{The KJV was a word for word translation, they used the Majority Text...}
https://bible.org/article/majority-text-and-original-text-are-they-identical
Wrong. The only reason they italicized words was because the edges of the pages of the original non-corrupted texts were worn off because of how often they were used. When the Majority Texts were consulted they were able to figure out what the words were.
Scholars who were not on the take, who actually knew their trade, and not afraid of the Catholic church.
There was also the Geneva Bible, the Miles Coverdale Bible, the Matthew’s Bible and Tyndale’s work among others, and they were out before the KJV. Your logic is faulty.
I know you’re not brother.
Those who buy it, buy lies from the father of lies.
I had a Catholic cousin tell me she can’t read the Bible for the same reasons - no understanding and no interpretations without a “priest”.
That same cousin regularly sees “Palm Readers” for guidance - she’s in Mexico.
There are millions like her around the world.
Talk about willingly walking in ignorance.
The road is broad where she’s walking.
Let that post sink in, and very well stated I might add.
1 John is one of the most powerful and piercing Books of Scripture that lays out how we should walk in the faith and “test ourselves”.
Test in Truth ➡ 1 John 1:6-2:2
Test in Obedience ➡ 1 John 2:3-6
Test in Love ➡ 1 John 2:7-11
The more we immerse ourselves in The Lord’s Word, the more we can see something ain’t right in a false doctrine and it starts to stick out like oil in water (and worse).
I hope she gets wise.
Same here, prayer is a powerful counter-punch - but it takes a lot of it.
You can’t reason with some people, so prayer is the weapon.
That notion Hageeism and Beck does this too
Has grown exponentially since my youth in the 60s
Probably a consequence of Israel’s further establishment as a Jewish state in the holy land
People like to speak with authority especially about the Bible
Nothing new there either
The opposite of that is chosen envy
Some Protestant evangelicals are eat up with it
I didn’t grow up southern Baptist with this fixation on Israel and the end times obsession some have
Yep, we know that, don’t we?

Matthew 23:
37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you DESOLATE. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Israel as a Vineyard
Matthew 21:33-46:
"Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner [God the Father] who planted a vineyard [Israel] and set a hedge around it [the law], dug a winepress in it and built a tower [the temple]. And he leased it to vinedressers [the Jewish leaders] and went into a far country [heaven]. 34 Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers [before the Babylonian captivity], that they might receive its fruit. 35 And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another [what they did to the prophets]. 36 Again he sent other servants [after the captivity until John the Baptist], more than the first, and they did likewise to them. 37 Then last of all he sent his son [Jesus] to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' 38 "But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him [the death of Christ] and seize his inheritance.' 39 "So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard [Jesus died outside of Jerusalem] and killed him. 40 Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?" 41 They said to Him, "He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers [the Gentiles] who will render to him the fruits in their seasons." 42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? 43 "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you [the kingdom no longer belongs to literal Israel] and given to a nation [ethne] bearing the fruits of it. 44 And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder." 45 Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them.”
HA HA!!
Show some proof of this claim.
You know what, I’m done with you. No matter what I say, you’ll never believe or understand, so I’m not wasting any more of my time on you.
Geneva Bible | Miles Coverdale Bible | Matthew’s Bible | Tyndale’s work |
The work acquired the sobriquet “Breeches Bible” because it described Adam and Eve as having made “breeches” to cover their nakedness (Genesis 3:7), instead of “aprons” or “loincloths.” The Great Bible (named for its large page size and first ordered by Henry VIII in 1538) was restored to the churches after Elizabeth I’s succession halted persecution of Anglicans and Protestants, but the Geneva Bible, imported from Europe and not printed in England until 1576, quickly surpassed the Great Bible in public favour. The Geneva Bible was the first Bible in English to add numbered verses. It was also one of the first to include extensive commentary notes, which were later deemed “seditious” by King James when he banned the Geneva Bible in 1611. Despite the king’s contempt, the work’s enduring popularity made the Geneva Bible an important influence on the translators of the King James Version. | Coverdale based his New Testament on Tyndale's translation. For the Old Testament, Coverdale used Tyndale's published Pentateuch and possibly his published Jonah. He apparently did not make use of any of Tyndale's other, unpublished, Old Testament material (cf. Matthew Bible). Instead, Coverdale himself translated the remaining books of the Old Testament and the Apocrypha. Coverdale used his working intermediate knowledge of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek; not being a Hebrew or Greek scholar, he worked primarily from German Bibles—Luther's Bible and the Swiss-German version (Zürich Bible) of Huldrych Zwingli[1] and Leo Jud—and Latin sources including the Vulgate. | The Matthew Bible, also known as Matthew's Version, was first published in 1537 by John Rogers, under the pseudonym "Thomas Matthew". It combined the New Testament of William Tyndale, and as much of the Old Testament as he had been able to translate before being captured and put to death. Myles Coverdale translated chiefly from German and Latin sources and completed the Old Testament and Biblical apocrypha, except for the Prayer of Manasseh, which was Rogers', into the Coverdale Bible. It is thus a vital link in the main sequence of English Bible translations. | William Tyndale (/ˈtɪndəl/;[1] sometimes spelled Tynsdale, Tindall, Tindill, Tyndall; c. 1494 – c. 6 October 1536) was an English biblical scholar and linguist who became a leading figure in the Protestant Reformation in the years leading up to his execution. He is well known as a translator of the Bible into English, and was influenced by the works of prominent Protestant Reformers such as Martin Luther.[2] |
I've noticed.
So; you have no data to back up your statement; eh?
I might be able to believe what you say; if you can give me a wee bit more than just you saying it.
And others get huffy if you hold their feet to the fire.
