America Prayer Vigil, September 1, 2023

Join with fellow FREEPERS to pray for AMERICA: For those in Authority in Government, Family, Military, Business, Healthcare, Education, end of sex trafficking, agribusiness, Churches, and the Media. I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ~ 1 Timothy 2:1-2

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1 JOHN 5:14

"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."

Lord we see deepening trouble in our nation. We have been careless as a nation. Once dedicated to You, we flourished, became fat a strong, then we no longer pledged allegiance to You, Once a defender of freedom we became a protector of our economy by becoming an economic bully, thus several nations started to rebel. We Your people became dependent on the government instead of You.

Many years ago You gave me a vision, as it where 2 large green angry Statue of Liberty like woman on a shore and a great storm. Somehow I knew it to be an economic disaster. Many were swept out to sea and had to fight for their lives to make it to shore. Recently my prayer partner had a similar one of a great storm that brought a very difficult time on the nations, yet he had peace in his heart because he sensed that we would eventually make it thru.

Lord I repent of my taking You lightly, like so many others, we have become compromised and fearful. May Your people once again become faithful and bold by surrendering to You. Jesus, we call for true justice, honest judges and politicians that are not afraid of the threats of the wicked. Lord we pray that the Ukraine war will not escalate but would cease. We pray that the covid mandates would fail and that the vaccine warfare be exposed. Bless president Trump and vindicate him from this political tyranny.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

And to have the nerve to name the variant Eris, after a fallen angel! They mock us to our faces!

Prayer For Holy Living In This Fallen World

Loving Lord, how I thank You that in Christ I have Your Holy Spirit living in me to live and work to Your praise and glory. Help me Lord, to keep looking to Jesus, and to keep my mind on the things above, not on the things that are of this world system.

Help me I pray, to look away from the things of the world and to pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, and to be numbered with those who call on the Lord with a pure and humble heart.

Help me to live my life in a manner that is pleasing to my God, in gentleness towards others and in reverence towards You.

Prevent me I pray, from being squeezed into the world’s mould, but rather may I be conformed more and more, into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on Him, Who is the Author and Finisher of my faith and in Whose name I pray,

Amen.

Psalm 78 (1-31)

A Maskil of Asaph.

1 Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings from of old,
3 things that we have heard and known,
that our ancestors have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children;
we will tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
and the wonders that he has done.

5 He established a decree in Jacob,
and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
to teach to their children;
6 that the next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn,
and rise up and tell them to their children,
7 so that they should set their hope in God,
and not forget the works of God,
but keep his commandments;
8 and that they should not be like their ancestors,
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation whose heart was not steadfast,
whose spirit was not faithful to God.

9 The Ephraimites, armed with* the bow,
turned back on the day of battle.
10 They did not keep God’s covenant,
but refused to walk according to his law.
11 They forgot what he had done,
and the miracles that he had shown them.
12 In the sight of their ancestors he worked marvels
in the land of Egypt, in the fields of Zoan.
13 He divided the sea and let them pass through it,
and made the waters stand like a heap.
14 In the daytime he led them with a cloud,
and all night long with a fiery light.
15 He split rocks open in the wilderness,
and gave them drink abundantly as from the deep.
16 He made streams come out of the rock,
and caused waters to flow down like rivers.

17 Yet they sinned still more against him,
rebelling against the Most High in the desert.
18 They tested God in their heart
by demanding the food they craved.
19 They spoke against God, saying,
‘Can God spread a table in the wilderness?
20 Even though he struck the rock so that water gushed out
and torrents overflowed,
can he also give bread,
or provide meat for his people?’

21 Therefore, when the Lord heard, he was full of rage;
a fire was kindled against Jacob,
his anger mounted against Israel,
22 because they had no faith in God,
and did not trust his saving power.
23 Yet he commanded the skies above,
and opened the doors of heaven;
24 he rained down on them manna to eat,
and gave them the grain of heaven.
25 Mortals ate of the bread of angels;
he sent them food in abundance.
26 He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens,
and by his power he led out the south wind;
27 he rained flesh upon them like dust,
winged birds like the sand of the seas;
28 he let them fall within their camp,
all around their dwellings.
29 And they ate and were well filled,
for he gave them what they craved.
30 But before they had satisfied their craving,
while the food was still in their mouths,
31 the anger of God rose against them
and he killed the strongest of them,
and laid low the flower of Israel.

There are Christians
Who have hysterical reactions
As if the world had slipped out of God’s hands.
They are violent
As if they were risking everything.

But we believe in history.
The world is not a roll of the dice
On its way toward chaos.
A new world has begun to happen
Since Christ has risen?

Jesus Christ,
We rejoice in your definitive triumph
With our bodies still in the breach,
Our souls in tension;
We cry our first “Hurrah!”
Till eternity unfolds itself.

Your sorrow now has passed.
Your enemies have failed.
You are the definitive smile for humankind.

What matter the wait now for us?
We accept the struggle and the death,
Because you, our love, will not die!

We march behind you on the road to the future.
You are with us. You are our immortality?

Take away the sadness from our faces;
We are not in a game of chance?
You have the last word!

Beyond the crushing of our bones,
Now has begun the eternal “Alleluia!”
From the thousands of openings
In our wounded bodies and souls,
There now arises a triumphal song!

So teach us to give voice
To your new life throughout the world,
Because you dry the tears of the oppressed forever?
And death will disappear
