Jesus rose from the dead "on the first day of the week."104 Because it is the "first day," the day of Christ's Resurrection recalls the first creation. Because it is the "eighth day" following the sabbath,105 it symbolizes the new creation ushered in by Christ's Resurrection. For Christians it has become the first of all days, the first of all feasts, the Lord's Day (he kuriake hemera, dies dominica) Sunday:
We all gather on the day of the sun, for it is the first day [after the Jewish sabbath, but also the first day] when God, separating matter from darkness, made the world; and on this same day Jesus Christ our Savior rose from the dead.106

Now you know what insults an angel!!!
I am truly in the presense of GREATNESS!
To a Sadducee, 2 Maccabees 7 is not sacred scripture.
So?
YOU are the one using it, claiming it is TRADTITION; when your very own words shows that it is NOT!
Thank GOD that the Catholic traditions have allowed you guys to overpower yours!
Are you sure?
Boy; ah say BOY!
You need an incredulous picture to go along with this statement!
Thank you for your time.
I was thinking of all the traditions that have been passed down these past 2000 years and reflecting specifically upon God’s extraordinary gifts to the Church when it occurred to me: you wouldn’t believe them if I shared them even though you can still go and see two of them today.
As it is written: ‘If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rose from the dead.’
Why that is just what those of the historical magisterium asked an itinerant preacher, who responded by asking them a question, since the implicit answer refuted their challenge, (Mark 11:27-33) and thus I will do likewise.
Okay. So how can you prove that the four Gospels are the Inerrant Word of God Inspired by the Holy Spirit? What authority did God give to you?
OK. Challenge accepted. Tell me how could you, as a first century Christian who would be faced with an itinerant preacher invoking Hebrew writings as Scripture, which the historical magisterium rejected, know that such writings were the Inerrant Word of God Inspired by the Holy Spirit, and I will tell you how devout seekers and lovers of Divine Truth souls could know other men and writings were of God.
Also, if faith in the RCC is essential to assuredly know what is of God, how can you know that the RCC is the uniquely the on true church?
And as for "prove," since it took Rome over 1400 to settle Cath scholarly disagreements on the canon, and 'the one duty of the multitude is to allow themselves to be led, and, like a docile flock, to follow the Pastors," (VEHEMENTER NOS, an Encyclical of Pope Pius X promulgated on February 11, 1906) and in notes (required) - and even more so in "study helps - of the official RC bible for America, for decades taught that such literal historical events as the Flood of Noah were legends (and even after criticisms and revisions, the notes to the NABE for the book of Jonah states that "As to genre, it has been classified in various ways, such as parable or satire," and explains "Let us make" in Gen. 1:26 as "in the ancient Near East, and sometimes in the Bible, God was imagined as presiding over an assembly of heavenly beings who deliberated and decided about matters on earth," and Ex. 10:19 as "the Hebrew literally means “sea of reeds” or “reedy sea,” which could probably be applied to a number of bodies of shallow water, " and that the Genesis 6:1-4 text is "apparently alluding to an old legend), then how does this prove Scripture is the Inerrant Word of God Inspired by the Holy Spirit?
You asked for it.
More non-sense: Lucifer well knew that God is the master when he essentially asserted “I will NOT serve!” in presuming to sit on the throne of God, (Is. 14:12-14) while the assumption of the assumption of Mary was so lacking written tradition that RC scholars opposed it being made dogma, and Ratzinger resorted to arguing that Rome "remembered" what there was no testimony to forget.
Are you jealous that God gave so much grace to Mary, or do you believe Jesus is not the Perfect Son?
Another logical fallacy (false dilemma) while also once again, you are inconsistently engaging in the fallacy that if God used an instrument to provide grace, then much more can be assumed of that instrument than what is written, contrary in principle to 1 Co. 4:6.
While as was told Peter, after being told to eat many common or unclean creatures, (Act 10:14) that he - and thus we - should not call any man common or unclean [akathartos] - God having cleansed all such - (Act 10:14,15) yet there are false brethren whose security is in their system, and thus are driven to bring all to submit to it, or at least stop reproof of it.
I’m sure you had a point in mind when you typed this reply, but I cannot figure out what it was.
Quote
Mary, the Mother of God, is to whom all are expected to serve. She is fully human but filled with so much grace that she did not receive Original Sin nor any sin thereafter......
Bean counter:
Yikes..
It is written:
Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Maybe if Christians called Him by His English name Joshua, there’d be a real way to differentiate between Satan’s version of Mary and Jesus told from Rome’s perspective vs The Jewish perspective of Miriam and Her Son Joshua, the Word Made Flesh..
Easier to see the stark differences when the proper English translation name for Christ is applied...
But that would really screw up harlot Protestants too..
They’ve bought Rome’s version for way too long to flee..
I say again, Yikes...
With your quoted statement above, the premise is not only did Christ not come in the flesh as all us humans have, with original sin, but the mother too.
That checks an ‘antichrist’ definition from scripture that won’t sit well with today’s Protestants if they follow the path to end times ‘antichrist,’ role in their end time doctrines.
They can’t afford to follow Antichrist.
They are supposed to have left the earth before then according to some of their doctrines of demons..
Two red herrings in one sentence. What's a fella to do?
The following song kinda sums up what the BIBLE says about Mary...
So from Solo Scriptura to a verse from a pop culture song?
Yet you argue against tradition?
I may as well be talking to a brick wall.
I think we disagree on just what defines ‘pop culture’.
We seem to disagree on a lot of things so let’s call it a week. I need to get back to my wall.
I’ll bet we agree on more.
I’m working on a roof, two broken mowers, and a barn that REALLY needs to be organized so I can find stuff!
