Lutheran Pastor Announces He’s Going to Preach ‘Against the Text’ + Torches the Great Commission

A Lutheran pastor announced on Facebook that he was going to be preaching “AGAINST the text” that contains the Great Commission, declaring that he’s doing so “in solidarity with the millions around the world who have been the targets of this non-reciprocal and colonial discipline.”

Clint Schnekloth is the impastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lafayette, AR, an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) church that promotes the full inclusion of LGBTQ folks and Queer Camps for children.

Claiming to have common cause with Episcopalians and “Unitarian Universalists,” the church is committed to “offering open space for doubts and exploration” where “belief and doctrine are not gates for entry, but furniture to try out.” Schnekloth writes that atheists and agnostics would feel very welcome in their church because “the system of belief that we host among us is subject to inquiry and challenge. It’s okay not to believe everything. And it certainly isn’t an expectation to conform to specific behavioral patterns or types of “decency.”

In an announcement on Facebook, the impastor explained the topic of his upcoming sermon:

True to his word, his sermon engages in some hardcore higher criticism of the scriptures, freely admitting that much of it is untrue and self-contradictory but that he’s okay with it. Specifically, he goes after the Great Commission as against the spirit and teaching of Jesus, ties it into gender affirming care for children and then ends his sermon strangely and abruptly.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is functionally one of the most heretical and demonic denominations in America. It has denigrated to basically one massive pen for goats, run by spiritual criminals and hirelings, with barely a sheep to be found anywhere. Because they are almost completely unaware of scripture and its understanding. I was (of the American) Lutheran (church) and knew little, repeat: little, scripture.

I had a “covenant” assurance of salvation. Surely, all Lutherans will be saved. I am a Lutheran. Therefore, I will be saved.
Scripture teaches that individuals, not groups, will be judged. That started me to look...

I learned that being baptized as a baby was not scriptural. Scripture teaches that babies have done neither good nor evil. Additionally, I learned that the only scriptural baptism was immersion of adults.

I learned that each congregation, led by LOCAL elders was independent of all other congregations. There is no hierarchy. The organizational chart for the Lord’s church has every Christian of that congregation directly under the Lord who sits at the right hand of God. Elders are similarly connected directly to the Lord but with the additional charge to be the spiritual leaders (not rulers, not bosses) of the congregation.

Want to find the Lord’s church? Get out the Yellow Pages and eliminate any church that is governed by a hierarchy; mark those churches led by elders. Eliminate every church which baptizes babies and baptizes by pouring or sprinkling.

(May I include you in this?) (Time’s up.) If you and I were listening to Peter preach in Acts 2, we would have come to believe that Jesus is the son of God, we would gladly receive Peter’s teaching and we would have obeyed Peter’s command to repent and be baptized (Immersed) for the remission of sins. If we were with Philip and the eunuch in the chariot, we would have confessed our faith before Philip baptized us. If we were with Saul/Paul we would have heard Ananias tell us to be baptized and wash away our sins.

My assurance: I have done what Peter, Ananias and Philip commanded. Everyone they spoke with was saved, no doubt about it.

So why do Lutherans and many others hang in there as their congregations are on the slippery slope. They don’t know that they don’t know. Consequently, they are unaware that they could be “lost.”

You shall know the truth and the truth will make you free (from DECEPTION.)

Wrong! I know plenty of Christ’s sheep who are still in the ELCA, as I once was. They need a Shepherd to lead them out of the once sound, but now more and more heretical ELCA!!!!

The Great Commission

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

It is of course incredibly wrong to call The Great Commission “against the spirit and teaching of Jesus”, since Jesus Christ Himself commanded it!!!!
