I was so disappointed that Mel, after proving the existence of a massive hunger for good movies in Hollywood, just largely disappeared. Not to judge Apocalypto or The Beaver, neither of which I have seen, but couldn’t he have done something more? (Someone I trust VERY much on such things claims to have done some work for him and was disgusted that he relied mostly on illegal-alien labor.)
By the way, my take on his post-Passion life was that the demons fought back hard. If he’s recuperated from battle and ready to march again, God bless him.
So you haven't seen his movies, yet you're disappointed he didn't do more?!?
Took a little break from the 2000-2005 or so but has been back ever since; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mel_Gibson_filmography#Acting_roles
Blood Father was a pretty good one. 2016

In November 2016, film critic Matt Zoller Seitz named Gibson as “the pre-eminent religious filmmaker in the United States”.[68]
“Mel ... just largely disappeared”
They blackballed him. He’s got money, but not Soros money. They freeze him out of movies and funding for movies. Jim Caviezel too and he doesn’t have Mel’s money. Think Mark Wahlberg’s next. Made the “Father Stu” movie, does commercials for wounded vets on Fox, says he’s moving to Nevada because he doesn’t want his kids growing up in Hollywood and is an unabashed Catholic. All three are very talented but they’re outspoken conservatives.
