I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ~ 1 Timothy 2:1-2

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1 JOHN 5:14
2 Sam.23: “Now these are the last words of David: David son of Jesse says, and the man who was raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, says, The Spirit of the Lord spoke in and by me, and His word was upon my tongue. The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me, When one rules over men righteously, ruling in the fear of God, He dawns on them like the morning light when the sun rises on a cloudless morning, when the tender grass springs out of the earth through clear shining after rain. Truly does not my house stand so with God? For He has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure. For will He not cause to prosper all my help and my desire?”
Father, we read this passage in 2 Samuel and inwardly sigh disappointment. Your will is for Governments to run decently and in order. We see confusion and every evil thing in our Government right now. BUT GOD, we rebuke fear and proclaim with the psalmist, “I will have confidence in and put my trust and reliance in You.” Knowing Your will is order, we ask that Your will be done in the Government of our UNITED States of America. Make it orderly. Three little words impossible in our thinking but possible with You.
May Your person be placed as Speaker of the House and unite the Republican congressmen behind the way You direct him or her. A house divided cannot stand.
We pray that You would surround President Trump with people of wisdom and understanding. Especially, Sir, they must be people who have Your heart. As they rein him in around Your righteous ways, we believe he will respond to Truth.
Thank You for answering our prayers in Jesus’ name. Amen.

and they were brought into subjection under their power.

but they were rebellious in their purposes,
and were brought low through their iniquity.

when he heard their cry.
45 For their sake he remembered his covenant,
and showed compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love.

and gather us from among the nations,

Lord, we pray that those in government would turn to You, would repent, and would seek Your will.
We pray that we would be governed by God-fearing people.
We pray that the darkness will go away.
Amen.
Oh Lord we look to you for help, wisdom and protection. For our government has gone its own way and we have put too much faith in those who are not godly. Jesus we pray that we could continue to honor you and speak up at appropriate times. In Jesus Name Amen.
