Is America at the End of the Road?
Jonathan Brentner ^ | 11/15/22 | Jonathan Brentner

Posted on 12/05/2022 7:17:08 AM PST by Roman_War_Criminal

Is America nearing the end of the road as a nation? Have we reached a place similar to that of Judah just before Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and the temple?

Three times in the book of Jeremiah, the Lord tells the prophet to not pray for the people of Judah (Jeremiah 7:16, 11:14, 14:11). God’s judgment on the nation was certain at this point; praying would not change the final outcome.

Can we apply Jeremiah’s words to the U.S. as well? I believe we can.

God’s judgment upon America is not only certain, I believe it has already begun. Please know that I am not implying that revivals will no longer happen in the U.S. We should pray for people to come to the Savior and hopefully a great many will continue to receive His offer of eternal life.

What I am saying, however, is that there will not be a great spiritual awakening that will reshape America or change its downward trajectory. As a nation, we have rejected God and His ways just as Judah did during the time of the prophet Jeremiah.

The November 8, 2022, election in the U.S. confirms that as a nation, we are close to the end of the road. As expected, widespread cheating changed the outcome of many key races keeping the Democrats in control of the Senate as well as that of several state governorships. The slight advantage to Republicans in the House will not alter America’s continuing descent into darkness.

Abortion up to the moment of birth won big. In California, the ballot proposal to make the murder of preborn children part of the state’s constitution was up by 1.3 million votes the last time I checked. In Vermont, 77.4% voted in favor of enshrining the killing of innocents in the state’s constitution while 56.7% did so in Michigan.

There’s also evidence that many people went to the polls to voice their support of keeping abortion legal up to the point of birth.

THE ROMANS 1 PATH TO PERDITION Paul wrote these words in Romans 1:18:

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”

What the apostle describes in the rest of the chapter aligns rather well with the past sixty years of American history. In Romans 1:28-32, we see the end result of rejecting God and His Word:

“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.”

The U.S. has reached the end of the Romans 1 path to perdition. Signs of the “debased mind” described in the above verses abound throughout our culture as well as in the halls of our federal government.

A recent news story claimed that the Biden administration sent money to Ecuador for the purpose of putting on drag queen shows, which are a hideous and indecent repudiation of all that God’s Word says about gender and morality.

Newsweek’s efforts to fact-check this report resulted in the two disturbing paragraphs below:

In a statement sent to Newsweek, a spokesperson for the State Department said the agency supports "a wide range of strategic programs in Ecuador" that focuses on diversity and representation, and that the goal of the CEN program is to "promote tolerance" and "provide new opportunities for LGBTQI+ Ecuadorians to express themselves freely and safely."

"LGBTQI+ people across the globe deserve to live in societies free from targeted violence and discrimination. Recent data suggest an alarming and deadly rise in violence against LGBTQI+ persons in Ecuador," the spokesperson said.[i]

In other words, the report that the Biden administration funded drag shows in Ecuador was not only true, but it’s just a sampling of their efforts to promote abhorrent debauchery in other nations as well.

The corruption that defines the U.S. government extends to Republicans as well. Most, if not all of the GOP leadership support the globalists’ agenda while only a handful of its politicians speak out against the injustice and wicked behavior that abounds throughout America.

On November 16, 2022, twelve Republican Senators joined Democrats in ending debate on the “Respect for Marriage Act,” which establishes same-sex marriage into federal law. This ensures that it will become law.

An article on the Harbingers Daily website quoted Franklin Graham regarding the legislation:

“The deceitfully named Respect for Marriage Act will be voted on by the U.S. Senate this week, as early as Wednesday. The bill strikes a blow at religious freedom for individuals and ministries and is really the ‘Destruction of Marriage Act.’ Its sponsors remarkably claim it protects religious freedom. It does not. This disastrous bill sends a message to America that if you don’t agree with the left’s definition of marriage, you are a bigot.

THE NEARNESS OF THE SEVEN-YEAR TRIBULATION Another indication that America lies near the end of the road is the rapidly approaching Day of the Lord, or the seven-year Tribulation, in which all nations will experience God’s wrath. It will be the worst time in world history; comparatively very few people will remain alive at the time of Jesus’ return to the earth (Matthew 24:22; see also Isaiah 13:9-12).

There have been 63 million abortions in America alone and over one billion worldwide since it became legal. This alone accounts for the severity of the Lord’s future judgments that John witnessed and described for us in Revelation 6-18.

However, there’s so much more wickedness that places the trajectory of America squarely on a downward path as I have brought up in other articles.

Several decades ago, after Ruth Graham read the draft of a book that her husband was writing, she said, “If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Her words ring true today, abundantly more so. God will not be apologizing! Instead, the U.S. will suffer a fate similar to those two ancient cities.

Even if I did not believe in a pre-Tribulation Rapture, I would still warn people about the Lord’s impending judgment on America.

THERE IS GOOD NEWS, REALLY In the midst of all the bad news about the moral decline of America as well as the rest of the world, there’s much good news, really!

First, we know that Jesus is coming for us soon; there’s no better news for weary souls than that.

Regardless of our current circumstances, even if they happen to be fantastic, heaven will be so much better, it will be glorious. From the moment of the Rapture forward, we will enjoy immortal bodies and experience joy beyond our wildest imagination.

We will meet Jesus in the air and go to the place He has prepared for us. Can you imagine the excitement we will feel when we see Jesus face to face? Spend a few moments thinking about the reunions that will take place with loved ones and dear friends who are already with the Lord. Once we set foot in glory, we will instantly forget about our trials and hardships on earth.

Second, if you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus and His saving work on the cross, the good news is that you can know that you possess everlasting life (1 John 5:13). All those that call upon Jesus in faith are bound for glory; they will never experience God’s wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10; 5:9-10).

In my post, Jesus Is the Only Path to Eternal Life, I explain how you can know that God has forgiven all your sins because of the blood that Jesus shed upon the cross. He died in your place; He took the wrath we all deserve upon Himself. He paid the penalty for all of our sins, past, present, and future.

In 1 John 5:11-12, we find these comforting words about eternal life:

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Call upon the Savior while you have the opportunity; tomorrow may be too late. He alone is the path to eternal life (John 14:6).

Does science ever conflict with true divine revelation?
Then explain your question.

Does -- present tense third-person singular of do

science -- knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method

ever -- at any time

conflict -- to be different, opposed, or contradictory : to fail to be in agreement or accord

with -- in respect to : so far as concerns

true -- being in accordance with the actual state of affairs

divine -- of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God

revelation -- something that is revealed by God to humans

Colloquially, it basically means has science ever refuted/contradicted a legitimate, provable, divine revelation?

Errors of Seventh-day Adventism

by Keith Piper
edited by Rolaant L. McKenzie

Many SDAs are trying to gain acceptance as part of the orthodox Bible based Christian community. However, the following points show them not to hold the “faith once delivered to the saints”. Jude 3.

These false doctrines of Seventh-day Adventism warn people to not join up with SDAs, or to leave SDA if they are already involved.

1. THE SABBATH

SDAs insist that we must keep the Sabbath as a day of worship. This is wrong because:

a) The New Testament never commands Christians to worship or meet on the Saturday Sabbath. Instead, Christians are recorded as meeting on the first day of the week, Sunday, in the following Bible passages:

1. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 — to put money in the collection.

2. Acts 20:7 — Paul preached to Christians at Troas whose habit was to meet to break bread on the first day of the week.

3. John 20:19, 26 — Jesus, after His resurrection met with the disciples on the first day of the week.

4. Romans 14:5-6 — Paul, when discussing which day to meet, did not say that you must meet on the Saturday Sabbath, (as SDAs say), but he said “Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.”

5. Colossians 2:16-17 — “Let no man judge you in ... holy days or Sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come.”

SDAs judge Christians wrong who keep Sunday as a holyday. Paul says that SDAs are wrong to judge Christians for not keeping Saturday as a holy day.

b) SDAs claim that the Roman Catholic church after Constantine in 320 AD changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday. This is completely false, because we have at least ten quotes from major church writers from 90 — 300 AD who all say that the practice of Christians everywhere was to meet on Sunday, not the Jewish Saturday Sabbath. SDAs have no early quotes to show that early Christians met on Saturday.

2. SOUL SLEEP

SDAs deny that believers on death go to heaven. They say that believers go to soul sleep in the grave until Christ’s return. JW’s, Christadelphians and other false groups believe this error.

The main verses disproving the soul sleep error are:

1. Philippians 1:23 — “I am in a straight betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and TO BE WITH CHRIST; which is far better.”

2. 2 Corinthians 5:8 — “To be absent from the body (death), and to be PRESENT WITH THE LORD.” (in heaven)

3. Hebrews 12:1 — “We are surrounded by so great a cloud of WITNESSES”. (The departed believers discussed in Hebrews 11)

4. Hebrews 12:23-24 — “The heavenly Jerusalem ... the church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven and to the SPIRITS of just men made perfect”.

5. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 — “Them also which sleep in Jesus will God BRING WITH HIM”. This means that when Christ returns to resurrect believers bodies at the second coming, He brings our spirits and souls with Him from heaven

6. Revelation 6:9-10 — “I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the Word of God ... they cried with a loud voice saying...”

7. Isaiah 14:9-10 — “Hell from beneath ... stirs up the dead for thee. All they shall speak and say to thee.”

8. Ezekiel 32:21 — “The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell ...”

9. Ezekiel 32:30-31 — “The Zidonians which are gone down with the slain ... Pharaoh shall see them and shall be comforted, even Pharaoh and all his army slain by the sword.”

10. Luke 16:19-31 — the rich man and Lazarus who had died spoke to each other.

These 9 scriptures show soul sleep of SDAs to be false.

3. CHRIST

Mrs. White said: “Christ took upon His sinless nature our sinful nature. Christ took our nature and it’s deteriorating condition.” (Q.D. p.654-656).

According to White and SDAs, Christ acquired a sinful nature. This is false. Christ had a sinless human nature. Christ took our sin punishment, not our sin nature.

4. LOSS OF SALVATION

“Now while our Great High Priest is making atonement for us, we should seek to become perfect in Christ.” (The Great Controversy, E.G. White, 1911, p. 623).

SDAs teach that though saved by grace, we are kept saved by keeping the Law. This is partial atonement. Therefore, to stay saved according to SDAs, we must continue to keep the Sabbath, the 10 Commandments and pay the tithe.

5. INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT

Investigative judgment means no assurance of salvation. According to SDAs, beginning on October 22, 1844, Christ entered upon the “judgment phase” of His ministry, whereby He blots out sin. The SDA “Investigative Judgment” doctrine rests on Ellen White’s claimed revelation that Christ entered the Holy of Holies not at His ascension, but in 1844 (The Great Controversy, p.362-373).

Hebrews 9:12 contradicts White’s theory: “by His own blood he entered (past tense) in once (not in 1844) into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.’ Hebrews 9:12, 25.

“... now once in the end of the world hath (past) he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself” (v.26).

SDAs teach that Christ transferred the record of believers sins to the heavenly sanctuary, which will be finally cleansed at the conclusion of the Investigative Judgment, their day of atonement.

Mrs. White says in “Patriarchs and Prophets”, p. 357, this heresy: “The blood of Christ, while it was to release the repentant sinner from the condemnation of the law, was not to cancel the sin. It would stand on record in the sanctuary until the final atonement.”

Hence SDAs sins are not cancelled or forgiven yet. What a worry. No wonder they have no assurance of salvation until the imaginary Investigative Judgment is finished.

Q: If Christ can create the universe in 6 days, why does he take from 1844 until now to investigate the books? Is Christ a slow reader?

These verses show the Investigative Judgment to be false:

“The Lord knoweth them that are His.” (2 Timothy 2:19)

“I know my sheep.” (John 10:14)

“cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

“he had by himself purged our sins.” (Hebrews 1:3)

“yet now hath he reconciled ...” (Colossians 1:21)

“having forgiven you all trespasses.” (Colossians 2:13)

Christ’s judgments are AFTER he returns, not BEFORE He returns: “When the Son of Man shall come in his glory ... then shall he sit upon the throne of His glory: and before Him shall be gathered all nations.” (Matthew 25:31-32)

Hebrews 4:13 exposes the SDA limitation on Christ’s omniscience: “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”

Since Jesus knows all cases already, why must He investigate?

6. SATAN AS THE SCAPEGOAT FOR OUR SINS

White says in TGC page 422: “When Christ, by virtue of His own blood, removes the sins of His people from the heavenly sanctuary at the close of His ministration, He will place them upon satan, who, in the execution of the judgment, must bear the final penalty.”

Satan, according to SDA’s, becomes the scapegoat of Leviticus 16. This lack of clear distinction between the forgiveness of sins at salvation, and the blotting out of sins at some time in the future, makes it impossible for anyone to know, even at death, whether he is saved or not.

SDAs are not allowed to experience assurance of salvation, because there would be no pressure for them to keep the Old Testament law and Sabbath as interpreted by Ellen White.

Having the sins of all men laid on satan, assigns to satan an indispensable role in the blotting out of sins. This nullifies the all-sufficiency of the finished work of Christ.

7. ANOTHER GOSPEL

The Investigative Judgment and Scapegoat theories are “another Gospel” that Paul warns us about in Galatians 1:8-9. Paul places a curse on those preaching a false gospel such as SDAs.

8. THE MARK OF THE BEAST

SDAs believe that Sunday keeping will be the mark of the Beast of Revelation 13:16-18.

White says in TGC, page 449: “But when Sunday observance shall be enforced by law, and the world shall be enlightened concerning the obligation of the true Sabbath, then whoever shall transgress the command of God, to obey a precept which has no higher authority than that of Rome, will thereby honor popery above God. He is paying homage to Rome and to the power which enforces the institution ordained by Rome. He is worshipping the beast and his image. As men then reject the institution which God has declared to be the sign of His authority, and honor in its stead that which Rome has chosen as the token of her supremacy, they will thereby accept the sign of allegiance to Rome—’the mark of the beast.’ And it is not until the issue is thus plainly set before the people, and they are brought to choose between the commandments of God and the commandments of men, that those who continue in transgression will receive ‘the mark of the beast.’”

This is not rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). This shows SDAs careless, deceitful handling of Scripture.

9. SDA’S ARE VERY CONFUSED ON PROPHECY SUBJECTS

SDAs think that God has finished with Israel. Romans 11:2 and 25 contradict this idea. To SDAs, much of Revelation had been fulfilled by 500 AD. They don’t understand Daniel’s 70 week prophecy. (Daniel 9:24-27)

Conclusion: Leave the SDA movement today.

Did Ellen White teach ‘A Different God’?

“The man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty.” -Ellen G. White (1903, ms 150, SDA Commentary V, p. 1129)

Dr. Verle Streifling
Yes!

Recounting her vision of December, 1844, Ellen speaks of her and Jesus as “In a moment we were winging our way upward…” Seeing this, in the light of her calling Him “Michael the Archangel” (Desire of Ages pp. 99, 379; Spiritual Gifts Vol. 1, p. 158; Prophets & Kings p. 572) one is led to question if she did not, in fact, really view Him as just that—an angel! And if so, what of His deity and bodily resurrection?

SDA Pioneers as Arians for over 50 years

Arian: The Son is not of the same substance as the Father but was created as an agent for creating the world. -Webster’s Dictionary

It is well known that the early Adventist leaders and founders were Arians, who denied the deity of Christ, and the Trinity. Their article “The Doctrine of the Trinity Among Adventists” by Gerhard Pfandi, of their Biblical Research Institute (referred to as “Trinity”
“Two of the principal founders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Joseph Bates and James White, were originally members of the Christian Connection Church which rejected the doctrine of the Trinity…Other prominent Adventists who spoke out against the Trinity were J.N. Loughborough, R.F. Cottrell, J.N. Andrews, and Uriah Smith…”
These SDA leaders denied Jesus’ deity and the Trinity. Joseph Bates, raised in the Congregational Church, repudiated the Trinity doctrine upon joining the Christian Connection Church. Bates learned the Sabbath doctrine from Rachel Oakes, a Seventh-day Baptist; however, Bates did not accept the Seventh-day Baptist

doctrine of the Trinity…Other prominent Adventists who spoke out against the Trinity were J.N.
Bates learned the Sabbath doctrine from Rachel Oakes, a Seventh-day Baptist; however, Bates did not accept the Seventh-day Baptist doctrine of the Trinity. So, early Adventists had more in common with the Shakers, who not only kept the Sabbath and had prophets, but also believed in Arianism. Only by the turn of the century did Adventism begin to move out of Arianism to espousing Jesus’ deity, and subsequently, the Trinity. This was hard to do in light of Ellen White’s statements, spanning over 50 years, upholding Arianism.
