A Michigan judge has granted Gretchen Whitmer’s request to block the state’s abortion ban that protects the lives of unborn babies.
Oakland County Judge Jacob Cunningham sided with the pro-abortion governor and granted her request for a preliminary injunction. His order means county prosecutors can’t enforce the 1931 abortion ban that went into effect following the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The Michigan Supreme Court has 6 months to determine whether the ban can ultimate be enforced so women and babies can be protected from abortions. Abortions will be legal in Michigan until the Whitmer lawsuit or the one from the Planned Parenthood abortion business is fully resolved.
The ruling came after a two-day evidentiary hearing in Oakland County Circuit Court in front of Judge Jacob Cunningham where attorneys renewed their arguments for and against the temporary ban. This was the first hearing in the country since Roe v. Wade was overturned with live testimony on the impact of allowing the criminalization of abortion.
Cunningham said the harm of allowing prosecutors to criminalize abortions could not be “more real, clear, present and dangerous.”
“This is the ultimate example of maintaining the status quo,” Cunningham said. “There is precisely zero harm to the defendants by granting a preliminary injunction”

The Baby Killer Judge.
Let’s dox the bastard
The Left never stops, and I mentioned that they're going to go state-to-state and use lawfare to fight trigger laws.
State legislatures need to step up and start fighting back.
Fortunately, our legislature here in WI is overwhelmingly GOP and told Gov. Mannequin to pound sand.
Hos gotsta ho
Is anyone currently judge shopping to have Illinois local town gun bans blocked from being enforced
“Is anyone currently judge shopping to have Illinois local town gun bans blocked from being enforced”
Most of them were just struck down by SCOTUS in the Dobbs Decision.
Any municipality in Illinois attempting to enforce it will lose. Highland Park comes to mind. Naperville just passed some variation of an AWB but that will be the subject of a lawsuit the second it goes into effect in 2023.

I’m confused. What’s the legal reasoning all these judges keep using to say these laws suddenly are no good? What’s to stop any random judge from similarly getting rid of any law they don’t like?
Then the legislature must pass a bill that will be acceptable.
Grow up! This is exactly what was going to happen, 50 different ways of looking at this issue and each state must decide what to do.
Now if Congress wants to pass a National Law on Abortion then go ahead and introduce such a bill, debate it, iron it out, and then vote on it. Lets see that vote and that final bill.
Well, the abortion ban would tell me that Michigan has already made up their mind and this “judge” decided to change their minds for them. Still a baby killer judge. There. I already feel a lot taller and more grown up.
<>each state must decide what to do.<>
The 1931 Law in Michigan banned abortion. Michigan decided.
But a tyrannical judge intervened.
