A Missouri pastor berated his 'poor' congregation for not honoring him with a new expensive watch he asked for a year ago while reportedly delivering a sermon about 'taking care of God's shepherd.'
Pastor Carlton Funderburke, of Kansas City, was caught calling his congregation 'poor, broke, busted, and disgusted' after they still hadn't bought him an expensive Movado watch - which ranges in price from $395 to $3,295 - since he first asked for it in last year.
'I'm not worth your McDonald's money? I'm not worth your Red Lobster money?' he asked the Church at the Well congregation as he paced around on stage on August 7. 'I ain't worth your St. John Knits - y'all can't afford it no how.

“He has plenty of company in the white preacher cohort.”
This reminds me of Joel Olstein. During the hurricane that hit Houstin several years ago, Olstein, would not let anyone into his church that were in need of help.
On the other hand, one can go to WalMart and develop your own hate for white people by what you see there....
I went to a church in MS a few times and one time the pastor basically yelled at everyone because the parking lot wasn’t paved yet. Poor guy still had a dirt parking lot for his brand new building that his flock paid for.
He ain’t no Creflo Dollar. You gotta grease the skids.
I have a $29 Timex. Works for me.
I wanted some better than that, but there is no way that would spend $500 on a Fossil Watch or anything like that.
Congregation should haul this charlatan out to the curb.
There are all colors of this type of clown out there.
Nope. It's a company that specializes in women's knits.
This congregation might want to start looking at other churches.
Pastor Carlton Funderburke is a black man. So now I feel more like I understand this matter.
What a BUM. Doesn’t he know it is better to give than to receive? Hypocrite pastor.
I believe St. John Knits was a favorite of Tammy Faye Baker. Very popular in the 1980s and very expensive.
“I’m not worth your McDonald’s money? I’m not worth your Red Lobster money?”
Obviously he’s referring to blacks frequenting these establishments.
If a white pastor was to have said that to a black congregation, that would be a racist comment as well correct?
I see no reason why the congregation could all chip in and get him a nice timex
Demonic spirit of entitlement.
That pastor doesn’t want a fossil watch he wants a Rolex
I understand what he wants, but all those watches don’t provide really much more value than what could have been purchased at Target or when Sears was in business
I don’t get the idea of showing that you can afford such a watch.
I don’t like digital watches. I buy the cheapest analog Casio or Timex I can find every few years when the old one dies. Usually costs under $20.
