Marjorie Taylor Greene: I Was Raised Catholic, but Wicked Bishops Have ‘Driven Me Away’ from the Church

‘Mrs. Greene's statement about leaving the Church is as enlightening as it is saddening,’ commented Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute.

(LifeSiteNews) – Following criticism of comments she made about the U.S. Catholic bishops, conservative firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that she was raised Catholic but left the Church “with great sorrow” when she had kids because she had concerns about the left-wing hierarchy protecting abusive priests.

“With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church’s leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks,” the now-evangelical said in a lengthy statement.

The Georgia Republican was responding to the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, who slammed her for suggesting in an interview with Church Militant’s Michael Voris that “Satan is controlling the Church.”

“The Church is not doing its job. And it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ,” she added.

“It’s the Church leadership I was referring to when I invoked the Devil,” Greene clarified on Twitter. “Just so we’re clear, bishops, when I said ‘controlled by Satan,’ I wasn’t talking about the Catholic Church. I was talking about you.”

“The Catholic Church must throw out these monsters instead of lecturing the people its own bishops have driven away,” she continued, blasting the U.S. Catholic bishops as “some of the worst in the world” and “scheming bureaucrats in miters.” It was the “bishops’ wickedness” that drove her out of the Church, Greene said, and her own refusal to “submit the spiritual and physical livelihood of my children to these monsters.”

Greene, who is sometimes referred to as “MTG” (à la “AOC”), went on to say what many faithful Catholics who.......

Ever notice even a tiny difference between Paul’s epistles and the Hebrew epistles, Phil?

——>What you’re really displaying is that you have no clue about the Holy Ghost living within a person, Phil.

“The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, comforts us, guides us, gives us spiritual gifts and the desire to obey God; and he enables us to pray and to understand God’s Word.”

The Holy Spirit living in me certainly does help me to obey

Ez 36:27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

2 Thes 2:13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the first fruits to be saved, through SANCTIFICATION by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

No. Just stop already. You really believe that text is talking about YOU?

Greeting

“1Pe 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”

To whom was Peter sent and to whom do you think Peter is writing in the above text?

------------------------------------------------------------

Strangers. Gr. parepidēmoi, “sojourners,” “exiles,” literally, “[ones] away from home.” Compare the use of parepidēmoi in Heb. 11:13; 1 Peter 2:11, the only other occurrences of the word in the NT. The word is here doubtless used metaphorically of both Gentile and Jewish Christians, who viewed heaven as their permanent home; for them, this earth was merely “a strange country” (Heb. 11:9).

Scattered. Literally, “of the Diaspora” (see on John 7:35). The word “Diaspora” (see Vol. V, pp. 59, 60) was and is used to refer to the Jews who were scattered among the nations outside of Palestine. However, it is not restricted to that specific meaning. Peter regarded as members of a “Diaspora” both Jew and Gentile Christians who were scattered throughout the Mediterranean area.

Throughout Pontus. Pontus, with the other provinces here listed, constitutes the northern and western portions of the country now known as Turkey (see The Journeys of Paul).

2. Elect. Gr. eklektoi, literally, “chosen ones” (see on Rom. 8:33). The Christians are here considered as chosen because they had responded to the call of God. For a discussion of election as related to salvation see on Rom. 8:29.

SDA Bible Commentary

Peter was addressing GOD'S PEOPLE, one in Christ. He uses words like SANCTIFICATION and OBEDIENCE. The 7th-day-Sabbath is also sanctified and commanded to be kept. You should pay attention to that.

You never think it weird that the SDA has to constantly redefine what is written rather than just accepting God’s word as its written?

——>In other and shorter words, it’s not there.

Of course it is. I just showed you. Here’s more.

Acts 10:
10And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

How in the world do you think that text helps you in the least, Phil? Peter was a Jew!

When will you ever learn? God’s people will always follow His laws and obey, no matter from what period of time they were from, or what they were called.

Because NOW...Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS.

Noah knew the clean/unclean animal distinctions. NOAH WASN’T A JEW. NEITHER WAS ABRAHAM. But they were God’s people.

“God’s people will always follow His laws and obey, no matter from what period of time they were from, or what they were called.”

Really, Phil? So, Christ Jesus died for naught.

“Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;”

Yeah, well, that’s not good enough apparently because ... Miss Ellen says so! Who cares about what the Holy Ghost has to say?

“EGW doesn’t have a bible commentary.”

The SDA certainly does. Were they banking on the visions and words of Miss Ellen being true when they wrote it? Dunno. It’s a hoodwinking cult like the others. Scam to keep people chained in everlasting darkness.

No, not for “naught”

Romans 5:12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death was passed on to all men, because all sinned.

“So the author of the law, the Son of God, had to die because His Law could not be changed. It stands eternal, forever, the law of liberty and righteousness, the very character of God put in words. By dying in our place, He has offered His perfection, His ability to keep the Law of God perfectly, to you a sinner. The demands of the Law of God are met, paid for in full. By believing on Jesus Christ in this matter, you can put on His robe of Righteousness and God will consider you to be perfect, a keeper of the Law, fit to live with Him forever!”
