Why are angels nearly always portrayed by artists as female, when no female angels are ever mentioned in the Bible? And even when they are portrayed as males, they have feminine facial features. Hollywood does it as well, not just Renaissance artists and such...................

Love #4 and of course the angels of Edward Burne-Jones! Very creative design, the Days of Creation fascinated Burne-Jones. I love that he makes each angel join with the others in the following days. As an aside, he used his daughters as models for the angels. This was considered one of his greatest works.
