All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations—Isaiah 65.
Lord Jesus, I remember as a new Christian, reaching out my hand and shaking the hand of a terminal cancer patient and briefly witnessing to him. The wife sitting by laughed, she said he is a college professor, but not to worry, he won't lecture you now. The next day I came back to see him, he had passed. The Catholic cross on the wall grabbed my attention. The body of Christ was ripped off in anger, only the right hand was left.
Lord, I was reminded of this when thinking about our nation, who has ignored you and brought on it's own disaster. How they strike out at you when we receive the reward of our ways. And so we wonder, what will happen next?
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3.
Lord we looked to for the rescue of our nation, for all our efforts have failed, bring justice and sanity to our nation again.
