First impression: why did so many artists portray Jesus as nude or near-nude? I was baptized as an adult at 18 and I wore clothing. The Jews were more modest than our society and probably wore their under tunic and some top garment too.
In the hot dry climate of the Holy Land, the clothing would dry quickly.
