Be convinced of these 4 biblical truths: 1. Each of us has sinned; 2. God is just, requiring a punishment for sin; 3. But out of love God sent His Son, Jesus Christ who by dying on the cross, provided forgiveness of sins in taking man’s deserved punishment; 4. Therefore, by faith alone in Christ’s sacrifice for our sins and belief in His resurrection, man can gain eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, Romans 3:21-26)

ADSUM: Christ and the Bible teach that we will receive our judgement by Jesus upon our death.

Phil: You are correct. That’s EXACTLY what the bible teaches.

ADSUM: The protestant view of this is incorrect and will lead many to perdition as Satan desires.

Phil: Again correct. Many Christians will lose their salvation from believing in OSAS (once saved, always saved). Same for the pre trib rapture. It’s not going to happen.

Yes, I am SDA, and a Protestant. But, I agree with you on these points no matter what our other doctrinal differences may be.

Your comment: “You are here condemning those who belong to Him - the saved - for believing His words, while rejecting those words that could lead to your own salvation.”

I have not condemned anyone, judgement is determined by Jesus when you die. I merely point out false beliefs that are not God’s Truth.

You are entitled to follow false man-made beliefs and reject God’s Truth and to believe that you are saved before your death could be a serious sin of presumption. Not even all protestants share your beliefs.

Jesus speaking literally and sacramentally has provided spiritual food and drink for our salvation in the Eucharist, yet protestants reject this spiritual food and drink. Which is more important spiritual food or the manna to sustain the Jews on their journey?

Wait.....

I thought the words of Jesus took precedent over everything else in Scripture and here you are trying to excuse violating Jesus very clear command with excuses like *Everyone else is doing it.* , just the kind you hear from a little kid when they do something wrong.

Did Jesus say to call no man *Father* or not?

Yes or no.

Taught?

Ordered to.

Not only do they do it, it’s the official title the church established for their priests. In clear violation of Jesus command no matter how you read it.

And in context, which is anathema to Catholics, the command is to not use the term *father* as a religious title.

Jesus at least makes sense when He talks and does not jump in the middle of a discourse on elevating religious leaders and their titles, to a child calling his male parent *father* or the common use of simply recognizing that someone is someone else’s father, and then back to the discourse on religious leaders.

He’s at least consistent in what He teaches and it makes sense, as opposed to Catholic teaching which is self- contradictory and then when someone points it out, they claim it’s a “mystery of the faith” and you just have to accept it on faith whether it makes sense or not. (IOW, don’t think, just do what we tell you)

You are ignoring His clear statement…

“ Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.…

I believe.

I can tell you exactly when I came to saving faith as God opened my eyes to believe.

I can tell you exactly where I was.

One moment I was a Catholic, filled with guilt and heading to help, having never heard the Gospel of Grace.

In the twinkling of an eye, I was completely forgiven, saved from wrath, translated from darkness to light, a son of God the Father, a brother of Christ, sealed by the spirit, imputed with the righteousness of Christ, seated in the heavenlies with Christ, and so very much more.

I have eternal life.

Not that we hope we do.

Not that we believe in Rome or any other church.

Not that we follow rituals, take communion, wear beads, light candles, have idols, etc.

He said Believe.

If you claim to believe, but don’t have eternal life, you believe the wrong things.

Nor is the “Eucharist” required for salvation.

May you believe fully in Him and have salvation now.

All sin is mortal in that it puts us under the death sentence that i my. brief can remove. Once He has removed your sin He removes all sin - there is. i sin to small or great for His blood to wash clean

The catholic understanding of the Bible contains a great many of Satans lies. it thanks for confirming the Roman belief that one must accept catholic teaching to go to heaven

Are you a robot that doesn’t read and understand or use reason and logic?

Apparently your anti-Catholic bias precludes any rational understanding.

Please read Catholic Catechism 846 about your salvation.

You state that you believe, but reject the belief in the Christ’s Catholic Church, the Mass, the Sacraments including the Eucharist.

Jesus told us there is more to salvation than just belief.

Jesus warned us against false teachers, but you are free to follow them, but you probably jeopardize your salvation.

Your comment: “The catholic understanding of the Bible contains a great many of Satans lies.”

NAME ONE? and fully document why it is a Satan lie from your perspective.

Catholic Church teaching is God’s revealed Truth. Jesus founded the Catholic Church with the Mass and 7 Sacraments for our Salvation. Read and understand the Catholic Catechism 846 and 847.

Catholic is absolutely irrelevant to a believer.

I realize Romans must have people in beautiful costumes tell them what to believe.

These are false teachers.

So you end up with a “mass” which isn’t biblical. It stitched together a series of false beliefs.

Not so with the saved.

We honor God’s Word and believe it.

Like the thief on the cross, as in the words of Christ, as in the words of the Apostle Jesus loved, we believe and are saved.

Yes, without costumers, candles, beads, rituals, medals, or a pantheon of lower gods. All worthless and not for a believer.

“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

“I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

We believe and are saved.

If the Catholics can’t even understand something as basic as “call no man father,” how are they going to understand more weighty doctrines, like the plan of salvation, for instance. 😁 I am amazed at the spiritual darkness I see here. 👎

The Catholic catechism of any number is not Scripture and therefore irrelevant in regard to my salvation as man’s opinion pieces, which is what the Catholic catechism is, mean nothing.

How truly tragic that Catholics dismiss clear teaching of Scripture in exchange for opinions of men.

God’s Word, Scripture, is truth, not the fabrications and addendums Catholicism have added to it.

Jesus established none of the sacraments of Catholicism. He never taught on it even once nor did He call them by name.

The catechism is a document filled with falsehoods that can be easily shown to be such by comparing it to the inspired Scripture He breathed out.

Call no man father, is not so hard to understand nor obey. The only reason it needs so much Catholic *interpretation* is so Catholics can justify disobeying something as clear and simple and direct as to not call religious leaders by the title “Father”.

Catholicism does the most convoluted twisting of Scripture to justify its unscriptural doctrines as any religion I have ever seen.

“We honor God’s Word and believe it.”

So you say.

The Catholic Church was founded for your salvation.

You can accept or reject it. Your choice.

I will leave you alone as you are too confused.

No, Jesus died for my salvation.

Catholicism has nothing to do with it and is just a power grab by power hungry religious legalists who like to control everyone.

Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Certainly no the name of the Catholic church, or any church for that matter.

I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning…

1Jn 2:12  I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
1Jn 2:13  I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
1Jn 2:14  I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

In I John 2:13-14, St. John refers to the leaders of the church in Ephesus to whom he is most likely writing as “fathers” twice. And notice he gives them the title “father.”
Notice, he does not say they are “fathers” because they are married with children. They are “fathers,” spiritually speaking. And they are presumably “on the earth".

And you are trying to be serious, aren't you...You must think you are talking to a bunch of Catholic parishioners who have never seen the inside of a bible...

Jesus came not to abolish but to fulfill the Law of the Old Covenant (Mt 5:17).

And he did...That's why we aren't required to fulfill the law...We couldn't do it, God knew it and sent his Son in our place...

If in Matthew 23:9 he literally forbids us even to acknowledge our natural fathers as our fathers, how can we keep the fourth commandment (“honor your father and your mother”)? Taken literally, Jesus’ words in Matthew 23:9 contradict his claim in Matthew 5:17, but we know that the Son of God never contradicts himself.

Jesus never forbid anyone from acknowledging their father...He forbids people from calling anyone in the clergy Father...You seem to have trouble understanding this stuff...

The role of leaders in Christ’s Church is faithfully to hand on Christ’s teaching received through the apostles (Mt 28:19).

And that we have, in the scriptures...

Paul condemns in the church at Corinth “these slogans you have, like ‘I am for Paul,’ ‘I am for Apollos,’ ‘I am for Cephas’ (1 Cor 1:12).

This is rich coming from a Catholic...Thru you entire history you put 'Cephas' as the head of your religion and then post the scripture that condemns it...

Incidentally, both Old and New Testaments associate priesthood with fatherhood (cf. Jgs 17:10, 18:19, and 1 Cor 4:15)

HaHaHa....

Jdg 17:10  And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
Jdg 17:11  And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.

Sorry Charlie, no kewpie doll for you today...Here's your father/priest...

Jdg 18:18  And these went into Micah's house, and fetched the carved image, the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image. Then said the priest unto them, What do ye?
Jdg 18:19  And they said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?
Jdg 18:20  And the priest's heart was glad, and he took the ephod, and the teraphim, and the graven image, and went in the midst of the people.

All sin is mortal in that it puts us under the death sentence

Yes, I know that now, since my spiritual eyes were opened. Of course, when I was a catholic, I was totally spiritually blind. I had no spiritual understanding at all. After I got saved, and got assurance of salvation, I looked back on my life, and marveled at the incredible spiritual blindness I had when I was a catholic.
