Guest Op-Ed: 500th anniversary of the excommunication of arch-heretic, Martin Luther

This Sunday, January 3, 2021, is the 500th anniversary of the excommunication of Martin Luther as a heretic and schismatic – the greatest damage ever done to the Holy Catholic Church. He died unrepentant, without the sacraments and outside the One True Church.

Yes, Pope Leo X, who issued the excommunication decree and the previous Exsurge Domine warning (6/15/1520) to Luther, had a mixed record of papal righteousness – but in this event he is nearly unsurpassed and fairly vindicated.

In this writer's view, these documents are two of the most formidable, necessary and courageous decrees emanating from the Chair of Peter, defending the Holy Roman Catholic Church from doctrinal attack. They were subsequently, fully upheld by the Council of Trent – also one of the greatest Councils in Church history – to which we owe very much, especially on the Eucharist!

We still face great danger. With Luther, there was no warning, just 95 absurd theses appearing out of thin air.

Here today, we had a warning in 1917 at Fatima. “Russia will spread her errors throughout the world,” did Our Lady alert the three children and us Catholics.

We feel these effects today – a far more serious warning than Luther. In full deference to Our Lady and the Most Holy Trinity – it is extremely doubtful (despite assertions to the contrary) that the full, correct Consecration to Russia was done; or that the decisive 3rd Secret text was totally revealed.

The errors, it is said, will lead to “The Great Apostasy.” There seems no appetite in the Vatican, at any level, to humbly accept and remedy those grave errors. Rather, a desire to hurtle into the future with Pachamama; Amazon Culture; ecology; and global secular solutions – as moral virtue is completely ignored and vocations and faithful Catholics disappear at record speeds.

Will the Church (and our Country) continue its decline? Will we still continue to receive God’s Divine Mercy and Graces? Are we due for a severe Divine Chastisement?

I am not going to advance an opinion here – only to charitably say, we would all do well to place our own souls in a state of grace, and urge our families, friends and others to do the same.

And Pray. God is very good.

Your mind is defective, possibly due to so many years in catholiciism. I do not have false opinions about God's Word. That was a poor try at a strawman on your part.

The Word of God and the Catholic ORG teachings are not synonymous, not even about the same belief! Jesus IS the Grace of God for us. You cannot eat Him into your dead soul ... that, BTW, is one of the blasphemous WORKS Catholicism promotes. And I am well versed in the passage your religion uses to try and justify eating Jesus to get His divinity into you. Your religion has to ignore what Jesus ended that teaching with in order to commit the blasphemy.

You could get as far believing Jim Caveazel is the Christ as you will get trying to manipulate God by pretending to eat His flesh, blood, soul, and divinity.

Your strong delusions are not only sad, they can be deadly to you spirit if you are striving to worl your way to what gives Only by faith alone in Christ alone ... never your wrok work work striving. Fealty to sacraments, etc. AFTER you are born again will not remove your eternal life in Christ, but all that BEFORE believing and being born again will get you a ticket on the hell-bound express.

Jesus is returning to the first heaven soon, to take His redeemed to the Father's House. That will be followed by the Lamb opening the seven sealed scroll, in the third Heaven, witnessed by His redeemed, as He begins the wrath of GOD upon those who refused to believe His Promise through Jesus. If you have been born again, born from above, you will be taken along with ALL the redeemed in His blood sacrifice, regardless of the heresies and blasphemies of you ORG.

The things Mary teaches are quite clear.

Just obey them and be assured of Heaven; someday; after your very short purgatory time.

Evidently; GOD cannot untie knots; but Mary can!

Prayers to Mary are asking for her intercession.

I find intercession to be lacking here: just 'Mary will do...' stuff for you.

The 15 promises

(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche)

1Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive powerful graces.
2.I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3.The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies
4.It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5.The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6.Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying Himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise Him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7.Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8.Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.
9.I  shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10.The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11.You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12.All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13.I  have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death
14.All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15.Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

"The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem,

no matter how difficult it is, wheter temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families...that cannot be solved by the Rosary.

There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary."

So you are judging the Catholic Church based on man made heretic interpretation plain reading of Scripture versus what Rome teaches.

Yup; the above statement is true.

You failed to provide the link to our Protestant Catechism.

Here's a link to YOURS:

we can perceive the wonderful unity of the mystery of God...

On the contrary, you rely on man made false truths and not all of God’s revealed truths.

Once again your post vague accusations with NO evidence whatsoever.

I will agree with you in part that some Catholics (including clergy) by their sinful ways are leading many to perdition,

Then SURELY you correct ones should be able to get THEM back on track much easier than trying to get Prots to cross the Tiber; right?

What is it about True Catholicism that's so hard for the false Catholics to obey?

To reject the Catholic Church that Jesus founded may lead you to the latter.

Do you agree that rejecting Mary guarantees it?

...why do you believe the Mother of Jesus hears your and ten million other Catholic voices?

Let's try some easy math:

There are approximately 1.2 billion Catholics world wide;

If merely 1% of them  'ask' Mary for help just once each day;

that means that 12 million separate prayers are headed Mary's direction every day.

Given that there are 86,400 seconds per day... (24 hours times 60 minutes times 60 seconds)

...that means that Mary has to handle approximately 139 'requests' per second!

Purty good fer someone NOT 'divine'!

Perhaps some of those prayers get offloaded to a mere saint; but remember; them folks committed SINS! while on earth; so it's better to go with what works.

(I read that somewhere)

Why don’t you just answer the question I asked you in post 248? What’s so hard about that?

Your comment; “The things Mary teaches are quite clear.”

Yes. Mary responded : “behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord, May it be done to me according yo your word” Luke 1:38

“Do whatever he tells you.” John 2;5

Let us bring Our Lady into our worship at Holy Mass, aware that she is not just an optional adornment of Catholic devotion, but rather the one from whose consent came both Christ’s incarnation and his redeeming death. Then we can pray to her with the greatest confidence and without any silly fear of going to far in our recognition of the greatness of the gifts we receive through her, namely, the very life and blood of her Divine Son, our Savior.

The Blessed Mother of God taught us to follow Jesus and to do so without sin. We honor her role in bringing Jesus our Savior to all of us for our salvation.

May you respect the Blessed Mother of God and honor her special role.

Thanks for posting information on the Rosary. It is a wonderful prayer that mediates on key points in the life and ministry of Jesus.

It is too bad that your religion tries to question the role of the Blessed Mother of God. We should serve and give respect to our superior, the spiritual mother that Jesus gave to St John and the Church for our guidance.

Perhaps. Jesus will be your judge when you die. I wouldn’t want to assault or mock His Mother and then stand in front of Him.

Perhaps you could read and understand Mt 20:26-28

Catholics are required to believe in all of God’s revealed truths by faith. Someone who rejects one of God’s truths puts himself above God and not in communion with His Church.

Why do you question Jesus’ ability to respond to His Mother’s request?

“With God all things are possible” (cf. Luke 1:37). If we have faith, we will have no problem with believing God’s word over our own feeble and fallible intellects.

Perhaps you should read Rev 5:8 where the 24 elders hear the prayers and fall down in worship with incense.

Perhaps you should stop believing the false teachings of the protestants about the Catholic faith and His Blessed Mother.

May you find God’s Peace and His Truth.

One is not required to believe Marian apparitions, but I hope that you will take heed.

Third Message June 23, 1962

“The Virgin has told us:
The world continues the same...That it has not changed at all. FEW WILL SEE GOD. They are so few that it causes The Virgin much Sorrow. What a pity that it does not change. The Virgin told us that the Chastisement is coming seeing that the world is not changing. The cup is filling up. How sad the Virgin was although She didn’t let us see it because She loves us so much and She suffers alone. She is so good! BE GOOD EVERYONE SO THAT THE VIRGIN WILL BE HAPPY. She told us that We who are good should pray for those who are bad. Let us pray to God for the world for those who do not know Him. Be good...be very good everyone”
