This video features Charlie Shamp, a Christian who has some reputation as a prophet. He posted the video to youtube on the Wedenesday after election day. In this presentation Charlie Shamp goes on record with the claim that God revealed to him that the 2020 presidential contest will eventually result in Donald Trump being elected for a second term. Charlie Shamp says that the ultimate theme of various prophetic revelations over several years is that the election will hinge upon corruption in Philadelphia, which will result in the Supreme Court determining that President Trump is the winner of the election.
On a broader scale, Charlie Shamp is prophesying that the United States is going to see a third Great Awakening. The qualification to all this good stuff, as Shamp presents it, is that the church of the United States must pray aggressively during the weeks leading up to the January inauguration, in order that all that the Lord has promised should come to pass.

The testimonies sounded to me like legitimate stories of men who were ministering powerfully in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, in the midst of very dark circumstances. I have since noticed Charlie Shamp’s name among modern popular prophets who are featured, for example, at elijahlist.com.
I am posting this video on Free Republic because there’s a chance that anyone who watches it will be moved to pray more earnestly for the electoral process than they otherwise might. Nothing wrong with that, regardless what you might think of Charlie Shamp's exhortation. That specific motivation aside, the nature of the video raises all kinds of questions that are good food for thought. Is Charlie Shamp a prophet? Is anyone actually a prophet of God these days? If the election eventually turns on the Supreme Court ruling on corruption in Philadelphia, what does that mean with regard to God and prophecy; the “office of prophet”; and gifts of the Spirit, among other things?
This guy has stuck his neck way out with this prophetic announcement. If Trump doesn't win his second consecutive term, by any means at all, Charlie's reputation will take a sure hit. Not much less so if Trump wins by means other than Philadelphia corruption and SCOTUS. I will personally not be surprised if things turn out according to this prophecy. From what I can tell Charlie does walk in unusual prophetic ability, whether that's as an Ephesians 4:11 prophet or as one walking in the I Corinthians 12 Spirit gift of prophecy.
There are other prophetic voices like Mark Taylor who are (as of my last check a couple of weeks ago) confidently awaiting Donald Trump’s second inauguration, despite the deceptive machinations from election night til the present. Charlie Shamp is, however, the only personality I know of who is adding the disclaimer that believers in the USA must pray a Trump victory into being, that it is not a foregone conclusion.
Make of all that what you will. And no matter what you believe about prophets and Charlie, please pray earnestly for the Lord to release His truth and justice into this land. God has said nothing about the US Election. The Bible, on the other hand, does tell us that God is Sovereign and HE appoints rulers - ordained for the purpose HE has laid before them.
The Biblical standards for prophets are clear. 100% accuracy or this is a false prophet deserving of death. Nothing in between
That, I agree with. Not a self appointed prophet. Whenever someone says “God told me to say THIS”, I get a little bit nervous, based on past false prophets...
I relay a story when someone said “God told me to tell you this”. My reply is usually that God told me that you are full of BS and are not to be trusted. Who do you think was right? Both? Neither? Who knows? God knows-we don’t.

What do you make of this, then: beginning in June 2016, I began having dreams and what only be described as visions that ultimately led me to believe Donald Trump would be elected president. This was long before I even knew Trump was in the race. And the first vision I had I later discovered had happened on the same day that Trump made his escalator ride into the race.
There were plenty of actual well-known people who were confidently predicting a Trump victory based on similar circumstances. Was that not God telling people in advance that Trump would win? It had to at least be some spiritual activity. If it was demonic insinuation across many people and up to several years in advance, that raises other questions.
Well, he's correct on that one: Trump was elected to a second term.
Unfortunately, that is not the issue at hand. The issue is whether or not the deep state will be able to deny President Trump's being seated for his second term, and so far, it looks like they might just pull it off.
He predicted corruption in Philadelphia? A prophet indeed.

Duly noted. What if this guy (or any other believer) is simply operating in the Holy Spirit gift of prophecy and comes up with a word that inadvertently distorts God's intended message? The apostle Paul makes no provision for execution of New Covenant believers who get it wrong. The Ephesians office of prophet might qualify as one who has to get it right or risk death. Seems to me that something so drastic would warrant a reminder from Paul that such prophets better be really certain of what they've heard before they open their mouths.
Sorry but I don’t believe in modern day prophets. If God is going to reveal anything he will reveal it to us ... otherwise it’s all noise just for hits and clicks!
The Bible is one continuous document. the standards fo r prophets are clear. There is no inadvertent distortion. Either God has spoken or He has not. While we no longer put false prophets to death, woe to the one who claims God has spoken falsely. They will one day stand in front of the Lord

The fact is that the body of Christ has and continues to pray for righteousness and justice in America. We serve the God who was willing to spare Sodom and Gomorrah, if only 10 would repent. I assure you that there are more than 10 blood-bought, Spirit-filled Christians praying for America.
Any 'prophet' who hedges his bets is not a prophet.
On October 20th, and I watched it BEFORE the election, a pastor posted a prophetic dream he calls the DATA DREAM. Honestly, I have never believed much in this stuff, but I have never seen anything as eerie and, to date, true. He mentions Nevada, Philadelphia, lighted underground data routes running from various cities. People in lab coats, routing them, in fact, in one instance they are calling to stop the data flow. He keeps hearing the word “discovery”. I am waiting until December 17th, a specific date in his dream, that is jaw dropping.

Many I know to be part of the body in the USA are much more dialed in to the day-to-day news cycle meat than they are the spiritual realities underneath it all. Which ultimately raises the question in my mind of who exactly are the body of Christ in the USA. Anyone that attends church at all, ever? These folks I'm seeing seem much more amped up about the latest news than they are about praying for divine deliverance. But there are surely many millions of believer who are as you describe.
With regard to prophesying out of both sides of his mouth, you make a good point. If Trump doesn't win, this guy can say, "USA church didn't pray enough." That's between the Lord and him. He will take a very public beating about the head and shoulders vocationally if that is the case. As well he should. But he seems aware of the risk. He demeanor in the video is one that shows he's all in on this one, not worried about the risk.

Good points. Thanks for the reminder and clarification. The gifts of the Spirit, including prophecy, are specifically for edification of the body. If this guy heard from God about Philly and SCOTUS, we'll know eventually, if Trump is inaugurated in January. Otherwise, he heard wrong and distorted the word. Or it wasn't God that he was listening to.
There is no doubt that God is asking us to pray - to do our part, to join in, to attach ourselves to His mighty work to save the world.
And the world is what's at stake here. The 2020 election is apocalyptic in nature. The blessed American people chose the right side. The forces of evil are attempting a very blatant, very obvious, very desperate coup.
They have overreached, and - God Willing - they will be thrown down.
Let's all pray today - in our own ways and places - and in all the days to come - that their wicked plan will be broken, thwarted and revealed, and that evil will be in all ways rebuked.
