Father above,
Almighty King, bringer of Light to a dark world, we worship You!

“A lie,” it was once said, “can travel halfway around the world before the truth can get its pants on in the morning.” Today's lies are broadcast digitally and spread virally, instantaneously; against which there is no vaccine but You, Lord God.

You sent Your Son Jesus to be the Light of the World, to bring truth to those who can hear the truth (John 18:37). Spread Your disinfecting light on the schemes of faithless electors, Father, and on their macabre cheerleaders in the media.

We pray for our hearts to remain within Your spotlight, taking joy in Your illumination of our paths as individuals and Your will for our struggling country, even when we are reviled for Your name's sake (1 Peter 2:23). Help us to help others out of darkness through the light of Your Word.

Into the warmth of Your light we commend our President and his team, and all who must grapple with today's blatantly evil lies, whether they are our military, first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, pastors, community and national leaders, or especially parents and children. May Your light shine into every corner of every heart in this country, to separate eternal values from ephemeral waste.

May righteousness prevail; but if the weight of sin is too great and our beloved nation should suffer for it, it is only what she deserves. May Your people who are called by Your name continue to cling to Your Word and share Your Truth, no matter the cost in this fallen world.

For You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

In You we trust,

Amen Lord Jesus. I feel as if we are being winnowed. Tossed up in to the light. The wind blowing away the chaff, that which may look like grain from, pretense, false brethren, false motives, from that which is truly centered on you. The light is dawning on the darkness.

Under the guidelines of the Presidential Prayer Team, we pray in the name of Jesus for discernment for our President, Donald John Trump, and Vice President Pence as they consider the needs of the country in their meeting today.

We pray for Jeffrey L. Coleman as the federal coordinating officer overseeing disaster relief efforts for the destruction by Eta. Father, show them the specific needs that You would have our Federal Government meet. May it be efficient, cost effective and devoid of any corruption or waste. We know You will send Your people with aid as well. Show all how to restore our citizens’ lives in a way that will honor and lift up Your name and goodness. We look to You alone in this, Sir.

We ask for Your guidance and favor for the State Department as diplomatic relationships and negotiations are made with foreign nations, especially as it concerns Hong Kong, Israel, Lebanon, Belarus and the U.K. Diplomats expelled there in addition to the Islamic attacks in Vienna. Give them discernment, righteous strength and a victory that will give Your Word free course in those countries.

Please give our Treasury Department wisdom as foreign and domestic economic measures are discussed and decided.
