Be convinced with these 4 biblical truths: 1. Each of us has sinned; 2. God is just, requiring a punishment for sin; 3. But out of love God sent His Son, Jesus Christ who by dying on the cross, provided forgiveness of sins in taking mans deserved punishment; 4. Therefore, by faith alone in Christs sacrifice for our sins and belief in His resurrection, man can gain eternal life. Typical Catholic religion asserttions, trying to fool people as if the meme is not ‘work work work, earn the Gift’. God does the work. He does not recognize the filthy rags of your works done to obtain or retain. God does the work. We are born again by believing God’s Promise, nopt by striving to obtain eternal life.
As per usual, the Protestant puts faith in Christ, and the Catholic puts faith in belonging to his religion.
Nobody works to earn a gift.
Earning it is wages due for work performed.
Earning it means it is no longer a gift.
A gift is freely given at the behest of the giver. It has nothing to do with the worthiness or merit of the person to who m the gift is being given. Its freely given with no strings attached and the gift them becomes the permanent property of the recipient. If the giver tries to take it back, then its theft because transfer of ownership has occurred.
Forgiveness is a gift.
Nobody can earn forgiveness. Its freely given by the person doing the forgiving.
Eternal life is a gift freely given by God and He is not going to take it back.
As usual.
Bless you brother
Unless you are a person who has chosen to be a Catholic.
Then you can have confidence that all the unique Catholic rules will keep you in a state that salvation will be granted to you at sometime in the future.
Well stated and Ephesians 2:8-9 is just another rubber stamp on our belief.
In fact, the entire Book of Ephesians is pretty much written for Christians to have 100% confirmation of their stance with Almighty God - Jesus Christ.
The best part about being a Catholic is that when you die, your relatives must continue to go to the annual mass of your death, and if nobody shows up - you lose Purgatory and go to hell.
I had an aunt who died years ago. First anniversary of her death mass about 12 folks showed up. Next year maybe 4. I suppose she’s in hell now since they outright cancelled it last year.
So true; but what about the REST of them?
It's a story found in the bible:
1 John. 5:13"These things I write to you, that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God."
And this data can be found on page; uh; something or other, in the bible.
I hear ya!

Salvation is a CONDITIONAL free gift from God. No one receives Gods free gift of salvation unconditionally.
What Would Jesus Do? or Say???
25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, Rabbi, when did you get here?
26 Jesus answered, Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
28 Then they asked him, What must we do to do the works God requires?
29 Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
30 So they asked him, What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat.[c]
32 Jesus said to them, Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.
34 Sir, they said, always give us this bread.
35 Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Fathers will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
Some folks sure do!

26. "Gens quæ non servierit illi, peribit; gentes destitutæ tantæ Matris auxilio, destituuntur auxilio Filii et totius curi coelestis." De Laud. B. M. I. 4.
Cardinal Hugo http://fatima.org/crusader/cr38/cr38pg3.asp
Translation: "that those who do not serve Mary will not be saved; for those who are deprived of the help of this great Mother are also deprived of that of Her Son and of the whole court of heaven."
Saved by Grace;
Kept by works.
Again, something cannot be both ‘alone’ and ‘not alone’ at the same time.
James clearly says a man is justified by works. And the type of works James is speaking about is obedience to the will of God. This is why there is not one example in the Bible of a disobedient person rebellious in doing God’s will was unconditionally justified by God anyway. Only those that obeyed God’s will received God free gift. This is why a saving faith must include obedience and why faith void of obedience cannot justify.
Again, can you give just one example of a disobedient person be justified BEFORE that person was obedient to the will of God????
Rom 6:17-18 they first obeyed from the heart then freed from sin. The only way one can go from being a ‘servant of sin’ to being a ‘servant of righteousness’ is by obedience to God’s will.
You claim “works do not cause salvation” yet doing nothing cannot save.
The theology of faith only fails for it wrongly assumes the work done in obeying God’s will is an attempt to earn God’s free gift. Yet out of all the many examples in the Bible of men/women obeying God’s will it is NEVER said their obedience earned God’s free gift. But obedience was a condition that must be met in order to then receive the free gift.
I have read a lot of criticism of him, not least that he was rejected by the Church at Ephesus, which is then praised in Revelation 2:2 for 'rejecting those who call themselves Apostles and are not, and found them to be false.'
Those of us who are old enough, remember Green Stamps.
You got them according to the amount spent purchasing something; usually groceries.
Collect a few of them for a small gift; or a lot for a BIG one.
My question is:
How does a person know when he has been obedient enough to receive the 'gift' of Salvation?
Folks like chains I suppose.
There are people with racial chips on their shoulders and racial axes to grind.
There are also just as many with religious chips on theirs shoulders with major inquisition axes to grind.
Religion has killed hundreds of millions over the years.
