"We need to talk about race," Phil Vischer says in a video posted June 14 on YouTube. The evangelical creator of VeggieTales, a children's show that tells Bible stories using animated vegetables with names like Junior Asparagus and Pa Grape, tells viewers in his 17-minute video that Black households have one-tenth the wealth as white ones and delves into the history of Jim Crow laws, the "war on drugs" and "militarized police."
He talks about a TV news media that scares Americans with images of Black criminals and teachers who favor white kids due to their "unconscious bias."
Call Vischer the tip of the spear of what critics call a "woke" Christian movement whose members have not only embraced the language of the left but also its chief goal of defeating Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.
They'll do so, some say, if they can convince as little as 2 percent of the evangelicals who voted for Trump in 2016 to vote for Joe Biden in November. After all, he won in swing state Pennsylvania, for example, by just 44,000 votes, courtesy of white evangelicals...

They are called Methodists.
Used to go to the Methodist church, gave up on it over 30 years ago...
Thanks for the link.
Now I don’t want you to think i’m shallow and just gonna watch it because she’s the host :)
Have a good one
It is Biden’s base that is eroding.
Agreed! Most of them ignore what the Bible teaches and deal with feelings.
If there’s one thing a Christian can see it is just how close to the anti-Christ the Democratic party is today.
Abortion, Homosexuality, Communism/Socialism, embracing and enabling of Islamic terrorists, you name it.. the D’s are there
No Christian or Jew is going to vote for the D ticket this year.
(CINOs and JINOs, apostate churches that have abandoned .. or that actually outright oppose ... Biblical moral teachings....yes, alas! but no Christian or Jew will vote D).
LOL! FAKEST story yet.
woke ‘christians’ aint christians- They are people who deny God’s word and have instead created God in their own image, hoping to cover all their bases for judgement day- they will be sorely disappointed that they didn’t believe in the one true God of the bible
The last deadly sin left is to be called racist. That is why so many evangelicals are moving away from Trump.
Funny thing is when a POC comes out for Trump, a white man or woman blasts them as being a traitor
When it hit, black members of the church that had previously been so wonderful, and were good friends, gradually became more and more resentful toward white congregants and began acting more and more aggrieved. The more the pastor preached racial differences, the more fractured and resentful members of the church became toward each other. It shouldnt have been a surprise, since its 100% predictable what will happen, whether in a church or broader society, when one race is constantly told that they have been victimized by another race.
But if theres anywhere that this ideological poison should be forbidden, its in a church. Christians are supposed to be one in Christ, and pastors should emphasize that as Christians our identity is in Christ, not in our Earthly differences. Diversity has no place in a Christian church, and is in fact anti-Christian.
The problem is that far too many pastors, particularly in the various corners of the charismatic movement, are either ignorant of scripture or simply refuse to teach many parts of it that they deem controversial.

Kay Arthur with precepts studies were good in the 1990s
There are people with many agendas that have nothing to do with worship who are active in churches.
Non-story.
“Citing the governments increased spending on prisons and policing equipment over the past 30 years, Vischer said in the video, As a result, a white boy born in America today has a 1 in 23 chance of going to prison in his lifetime. For a Black boy, its 1 in 4.
What an IDIOT!
Here’s a thought: We built prisons to hold PEOPLE WHO COMMIT CRIMES. Regardless of color. Do the crime, do the time.
LOL!
They are not *woke* Christians.
They are deceived Christians, if they are even Christians.
*Wokeness* = deception.
And sadly Scientific American, a once respected journal.
So every problem that blacks have is due to racism? At what point do people take responsibility for themselves and try to improve their own lives, their families’ lives, their children’s education, and their communities?
The woke-sters view blacks as helpless children who must be helped with everything. One would think blacks would get tired of the patronizing.
Our Lutheran church split cleanly in half a couple years ago over the “politically correct” (or Woke) issues of the day such as Gay marriage, abortion rights, traditional family values, etc.
There seems to be a huge gulf between Evangelical Christians these days and it lies no more aparrant than as to which political party you identify with. Funny thing, it seemed almost to a person those who were of the social woke mindset were Democrats (who would never stop badmouthing Trump leading to heated discussions in a place not meant for that sort of discourse, not as a priority anyway) And on the other side of our church, those that did not believe homosexuals should be married, were pro life and held to more traditional views of family and learning were almost to a person, Republicans.
It is strange that the body of Christ should be split at all. “A house devided cannot stand” and also the verse about “winnowing the wheat from the chaff” comes to mind. The problem is, who are the wheat and who are the chaff” in this circumstance? “By their fruits you shall know them.
