Praise the LORD. How blessed is the man who fears the Lord. (Ps. 112:1)
Oh God, before we move forward in prayer, please accept our thanksgiving coupled with our praise for the blessing of knowing You. Thank you, Dear Lord, for touching each of our lives with moments of awe and wonder, with moments of surprise and goodness, with moments of love divine and blessed assurance, with moments of chastisement and trust so that we lean only on YOU for all our needs, spiritually, emotionally, physically and most especially eternally. How blessed is the man who fears the Lord.
We seek, Dear Lord, to bless our President today through Your Glorious Word and Promises found in Ps. 112. First, we thank You Dear God, that he has a heart that fears You and delights in Your commands. (vs. 1) What a marvelous combination for strength and diligence. The joy of the Lord is his strength. How blessed is the man who fears the Lord.
His descendants will be mighty in the land. The circle of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness stands forever. (vs. 2-3) Thank you Dear Lord, for his love for our Nation, his concerns for our families and those who are in need. We thank you Lord, for his circle of upright men and women who will not cow down to the pressures of the politically correct or the threats of the ungodly. Who truly understands: Blessed is the Nation who God is the LORD.
In darkness, light dawns for the upright. He is gracious and compassionate and righteous. Good things will come to the man who is gracious and lends, who conducts his business with justice. Surely he will never fall. (vs. 4-6) Dear Father, we thank you that as President Trump continues to follow Your lead, he will be as Jesus said: a light on a hill. The Darkness that this world tries to cover over him has no power. Thank you for his generous heart. Continue to help him and all his cabinet to conduct business with justice. Surely they will not fall. How blessed is the man who fears the Lord.
The righteous will be remembered forever. He will not fear bad news. His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. His heart is secure. He will have no fear, until he looks in triumph on his foes. He scatters seed—he gives to the poor. His righteousness stands forever. His horn will be lifted high in glory. (vs. 6-9) Dear LORD, in the future our President will be remembered as the 45th President in the corridors of our Nation. Only those who truly know You, will remember him as one who feared the Lord and loved his Country. Dear LORD, grant him strength and peace not to fear bad news, not to be anxious about the wiles of his foes, or the opinions of the senseless and shameful. How blessed is the man who fears the Lord.
The wicked person will see and be frustrated. He will gnash his teeth and melt away. The desire of the wicked will perish. (vs. 10) Dear LORD, we pray for mercy and grace to be over our Nation. We ask that President Trump and Vice President Pence, and all the cabinet members will have another term to govern our Country. We look in hope for the frustrated faces of those who tried to take him down, and the hope that the wicked desires of their evil deeds will perish and melt away. We hope, Dear LORD, for a revival and renewal of this promise to every American: HOW BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO FEARS THE LORD. IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
