She said: "never engage with someone who tries to counter each position you share with them with a question instead of stating their position in response, because you can convince a man (or woman) against their will, but they are of the same opinion still! It's called an exercise in futility so I just don't do that.

Your MOM said that?

Your Mom was well read!

Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797), the famous British writer and feminist (and mother to the author of Frankenstein), included the quotation ,

"Convince a man against his will, He's of the same opinion still." in the notes to Chapter 5 of her 1792 treatise, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.

Or was it Ben Franklin?  Or maybe it was Dale Carnegie.  https://www.google.com/search?q=you+can+convince+a+man+(or+woman)+against+their+will,+but+they+are+of+the+same+opinion+still!&ie=&oe= )

I agree with your Mom; for the Book says:

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

1 Peter 3:15-16 KJV

Billy Graham; though dead; still speaks to this topic today: https://www.thetowntalk.com/story/life/2014/08/03/graham-the-lord-will-forgive-our-known-unknown-sins/13537655/

17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

(if you fail to know what WIST means, I give you an updated English translation: 21st Century King James Version

17 “And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he knew it not, yet is he guilty and shall bear his iniquity.

My take away from this?  It's mighty hard to confess an UNKNOWN sin!

Jesus told us that if you don’t eat His Body and Blood, then there is no life in you.

Jesus told us, Call no man father.

HE also told the Pharisees that they were vipers. (Matthew 23:33)

I realize that Satan works real hard to convince protestants to believe the lies about God’s Truth.

I realize that Rome's Mary works real hard to convince Catholics to believe the information that she brings to earth because; for some reason; it didn't get included into the Bible.

...Reread John Chapter 6 …

Reread John Chapter 6:28-29

John 6:28-29

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

No, you are rejecting and trying to ignore the words of Jesus.

We are selective in what we 'ignore'.

Call no man father.

Obviously you can quote scripture, but lack understanding of God’s Truth.

How interesting that you can discern problems like this in others.

Jesus provided His Body and Blood in the Eucharist at the Last Supper

(In my best Foghorn Leghorn voice: BOY!! Y'all oughta READ the Book!)

The 'Last Supper' was a PASSOVER meal, the rules of which had established for CENTURIES!!

You should be aware of Sins against the Holy Spirit. They are mortal sins that harden a soul by its rejection of the Holy Spirit. Six sins are in this category. They are despair, presumption, envy, obstinacy in sin, final impenitence, and deliberate resistance to the known truth.

This stuff might work on the little kids under Rome's care; but adults tend to think a bit deeper.

Perhaps you are familiar with Jesus meeting two men on the road yo Emmaus where he shared a meal which reflects the Eucharistic liturgy, where Jesus gives himself to the church in word and sacrament in the breaking of the bread. Luke 24:30

HUH??

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,

34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.

35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

Perhaps the greatest sign preceeding the coming of Christ .... and yet, the only thing you know is that Christ won’t be sending him to you!!!
you have no participation in the mission of Elijah which ramps up to the second coming of Christ.
By your own acknowledgement, the events preceding the 2nd coming will not include you!

Sigh...

You really ought to study a wee bit more.

Use the first book in your Quad.

Matthew 17:9-13

And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

It appears like Joseph Smith has already experienced the SECOND coming: in the Grove!

Yes, we need to do the works of God. We believe in Jesus and the Catholic Church He founded.

Faith is both a gift from God and a human act by which the believer gives personal adherence to God (who invites his or her response) and freely assents to the whole truth that God has revealed.

Jesus tells us faith includes Baptism, Keep His Commandments, love and good works, belief in God’s Truth, the Sacraments including eating and drinking the Body and Blood of Jesus.

We believe in Jesus and the Catholic Church He founded.

You keep on repeating this...

Have you NOT read the Early Church Fathers at all??

As regards the oft-quoted Mt. 16:18, note the following Early Church Fathers promise in the profession of faith of Vatican 1:

 • Basil of Seleucia, Oratio 25:

'You are Christ, Son of the living God.'...Now Christ called this confession a rock, and he named the one who confessed it 'Peter,' perceiving the appellation which was suitable to the author of this confession. For this is the solemn rock of religion, this the basis of salvation, this the wall of faith and the foundation of truth: 'For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Christ Jesus.' To whom be glory and power forever. — Oratio XXV.4, M.P.G., Vol. 85, Col. 296-297.

Bede, Matthaei Evangelium Expositio, 3:

You are Peter and on this rock from which you have taken your name, that is, on myself, I will build my Church, upon that perfection of faith which you confessed I will build my Church by whose society of confession should anyone deviate although in himself he seems to do great things he does not belong to the building of my Church...Metaphorically it is said to him on this rock, that is, the Saviour which you confessed, the Church is to be built, who granted participation to the faithful confessor of his name. — 80Homily 23, M.P.L., Vol. 94, Col. 260. Cited by Karlfried Froehlich, Formen, Footnote #204, p. 156 [unable to verify by me].

Cassiodorus, Psalm 45.5:

'It will not be moved' is said about the Church to which alone that promise has been given: 'You are Peter and upon this rock I shall build my Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.' For the Church cannot be moved because it is known to have been founded on that most solid rock, namely, Christ the Lord. — Expositions in the Psalms, Volume 1; Volume 51, Psalm 45.5, p. 455

Chrysostom (John) [who affirmed Peter was a rock, but here not the rock in Mt. 16:18]:

Therefore He added this, 'And I say unto thee, Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church; that is, on the faith of his confession. — Chrysostom, Homilies on the Gospel of Saint Matthew, Homily LIIl; Philip Schaff, Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers (http://www.ccel.org/ccel/schaff/npnf110.iii.LII.html)

Cyril of Alexandria:

When [Peter] wisely and blamelessly confessed his faith to Jesus saying, 'You are Christ, Son of the living God,' Jesus said to divine Peter: 'You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church.' Now by the word 'rock', Jesus indicated, I think, the immoveable faith of the disciple.”. — Cyril Commentary on Isaiah 4.2.

Origen, Commentary on the Gospel of Matthew (Book XII):

“For a rock is every disciple of Christ of whom those drank who drank of the spiritual rock which followed them, 1 Corinthians 10:4 and upon every such rock is built every word of the church, and the polity in accordance with it; for in each of the perfect, who have the combination of words and deeds and thoughts which fill up the blessedness, is the church built by God.'

“For all bear the surname ‘rock’ who are the imitators of Christ, that is, of the spiritual rock which followed those who are being saved, that they may drink from it the spiritual draught. But these bear the surname of rock just as Christ does. But also as members of Christ deriving their surname from Him they are called Christians, and from the rock, Peters.” — Commentary on the Gospel of Matthew (Book XII), sect. 10,11 ( http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/101612.htm)

Hilary of Potier, On the Trinity (Book II):

Thus our one immovable foundation, our one blissful rock of faith, is the confession from Peter's mouth, Thou art the Son of the living God. On it we can base an answer to every objection with which perverted ingenuity or embittered treachery may assail the truth."-- (Hilary of Potier, On the Trinity (Book II), para 23; Philip Schaff, editor, The Nicene & Post Nicene Fathers Series 2, Vol 9.

Never in the Lord’s Prayer.

You added it.

Whoa, now a Mormon shows up to join a Seventh Day Adventist and Catholic.

And what do all three have in common??

They all add to scripture, then pretend what they added is true.
They fail to rightly divide scripture, stealing from Israel.
They all fail to see the Gospel of Grace, and choose a gospel of dead works.

My advice to you, Iscool, is to find someone other than MHGinTN to rely on for advice.

Oh, you mean someone like you...

And why would I do that...Unlike you, MHGinTN believes God and has a Christian testimony...
