Nope. It’s nothing we can do ourselves. It already has been done on the Cross; however, I will show you my faith by what I do.
One thing is for sure.
If there is an afterlife, an awful lot of people are going to be very surprised.
We just don't know who.
With most religions claiming to be the only way, and so many denominations of the Christian religion, most claiming to be the ONLY way, or you are going to hell, surprises are in order.
I hope everybody gets a good surprise.
Gee, I wonder if this question has ever been addressed before.
good Christian works ensure you have a higher residence in heaven. More closer to God than the pit of salvation.
Is breathing out neccessary for breathing in?
That’s how I look at it.
They aren’t necessary for salvation but if you have a relationship with Christ you will want to do those things.
Was Job saved by his belief?
you're saved! /sarcasm/
There is a manual with full instruction out there regarding this issue/topic/question,the Bible.
Well, without them, individuals and societies will experience Hell on earth.
No they are not..for Salvation. But they will certainly come into play sort of like a compass/guide until you know the ground tread and the sound of his voice as you walk with Him.
New Christians are called...”Babes In Christ” for a reason...but as they read his word they will understand and grow to maturity in time and tide as our walk is one of faith.
Can you remember reading about "a thorn in their side"?
Well it’s certainly far more than words that occurs in the moments of Salvation...but I saw you’re sarcasm mentioned.
Matt 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light
Nuff said-
To be honest? I never know for sure what someone means when they say works or commandments.
But, I have read what Revelation 20:12 says:
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.According to Scripture, I am a sinner who believes, and believes in, Jesus and His Father.
And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
Most of the time, I hope my belief might be obvious to anyone by how I live and treat other people and my self ... but ...
I am a natural born sinner and sometimes I dont struggle with this self-truth as much as might later I wish I had.
Commandments were broken and my works condemn me and I might not even know.
Thankfully for people like me, Jesus is the God of Unlimited Love and Second Chances.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner.
[[If there is an afterlife ... We just don’t know who.]]
We actually do know- there have been eyewitnesses to heaven- John, Steven, Elijah etc- all recorded in history-
There is a manual with full instruction out there regarding this issue/topic/question,the Bible.
.....”That’s one of Satan’s favorite questions and distractions, just like “Come as you are!” .......
Oh really?.....well most do Come as they are, but they wont stay as they are because God has begun a work in them.
Isaiah 1:18 shows us, as the lord said..... Come now, lets reason together, says the LORD. Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool......He recognizes how dirty with sin we are and he does invite us just as we are...dirty!
And just as 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us.... Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Just as surely as Galatians 2:20 declares...... I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
