A Louisiana pastor refused to close his church this week in the midst of the coronavirus scare because Planned Parenthood is still allowed to be open to kill unborn babies.
All across the country, schools, businesses, nonprofits and non-essential medical facilities are closing and canceling appointments to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, conserve medical resources and save lives. Notably, abortion facilities have been allowed to remain open even though their life-destroying service is completely elective and they make money killing unborn babies.
It does not make sense to Pastor Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle Church, near Baton Rouge.
The Washington Post reports Spell has refused to close his church to comply with a state mandate limiting social gatherings to 50 people or fewer.
We feel we are being persecuted for the faith by being told to close our doors, he told the newspaper. There is a real virus, but were not closing Planned Parenthood, where babies are being murdered. If they close those doors today, wed save more lives than will be taken by the coronavirus.
On Tuesday, he said the local police came to his church with an order to close; about 300 people were gathered for worship at the time. The pastor refused to stop conducting services.
The virus, we believe, is politically motivated, Spell told WAFB. We hold our religious rights dear and we are going to assemble no matter what someone says.
Heres more from the Post:
Even if every other business was shut down, said Nicole Bryant, 33, a home-schooling mother of five who was at Spells church Tuesday night when the police came, shouldnt the church be exempted?
There was a time in our history when I feel like we had that religious freedom everything could have been closed, but people need to worship, religion was top-of-the-line because that was the original reason for [the Founders] coming here, she said Thursday. The beauty of America is you can live your life based on what you prioritize as necessary, and we should be able to do the same.
It is not that she thinks church members are immune to the virus, but God will get them through whatever happens. They try to be smart, she said, sitting at some distance. But the spiritual power that is produced when they are together, there isnt anything comparable to that.
While houses of worship are being ordered to close, the abortion industry continues to do business killing unborn babies and consuming much-needed medical resources that could be used to save lives.
Recently, one pro-abortion OB-GYN in Missouri expressed thankfulness that abortions are still being provided, while admitting that she is struggling to decide whether to delay surgeries for patients with painful gynecological problems.
Our hospital is asking us to delay non-urgent surgical cases, wrote Dr. Amy Addante, a member of Physicians for Reproductive Health, on Twitter. I struggle to determine which cases qualify for this. Fibroid patients with bleeding? Ovarian masses causing pain? Luckily, abortion care is not being impacted. How are others making these decisions?
This global crisis is bringing to light peoples true priorities. For Planned Parenthood, some doctors and politicians, its abortion. But for many others, their priorities revolve around their faith, freedom and the value of every human life.
He has a point.
Go Rev
If the Church of Satan is open then Gods Church should also be allowed to open. One deals in death and the other in eternal life.
Good on him.
My church has closed. We’re Methodists.
“....He has a point....”
That he does....not I totally agree about having a large gathering of people right about now. God gave us that gray matter between our ears for a reason and it wasn’t to tempt Him.
So in this time of great trouble, it’s ok for the devil worshippers to bow down and “sacrifice” at the altar of the abortion god, Molech (PP), non-stop, but it’s not ok to worship the Lord Jesus Christ? Yeah...OK, liberal RAT governor, got it. Should have been voted out at the last election.
Abortion is NOT an “essential service”. Close all but essential services and maybe more folks would take it more seriously and abide by it.
He makes an excellent point
A friend of mine can’t get surgery on her foot because they have closed the surgery clinic.
Mrs. Child and I were both scheduled for cataract surgery next week. That was cancelled.
With leftist government bureaucrats health priorities are about politics a lot more than health. Gee, I am so surprised.
They have killed tens of thousands of gay men because of PC and their pathetic failed attempt to portray AIDS as a hetero epidemic.
If....if...(and it may be) this is bad as they say, they should be closing the abortion clinics along with everything else.
I have stated for many years that the *least* important thing to liberals is human life. And I have been right.
“”This global crisis is bringing to light peoples true priorities. For Planned Parenthood, some doctors and politicians, its abortion””
“”Dr. Amy Addante, a member of Physicians for Reproductive Health””
Physicians for Reproductive Health? Are they kidding? Don’t they take an oath “First do no harm?” She really sounds proud of her profession.
And they’re not one bit ashamed...The world is going nuts trying to contain a virus - stop it from killing untold numbers and these people can only think of being allowed to kill babies. That is so sick, you can’t even describe it...
all of your churches should be open.
If Planned Parenthood can kill babies right now then the churches should be open. This is not right. Baby Killing is not a life saving surgery.
Agreed. Im a little ashamed I didnt think of it myself.
Has anybody told that stupid woman “you first bimbo”?
Lead by example.
