First day of meeting promotes more restrictions on firearms
BALTIMORE (ChurchMilitant.com) - Gun control is again one of the main issues U.S. Catholic bishops are discussing, while faithful Catholics are calling them out as hypocrites for choosing politics over religion.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is gathering in Baltimore this week for its yearly Fall General Assembly and among the first subjects discussed on Monday is gun control.
Bishop Frank Dewayne of Venice, Florida, and chairman of the U.S. bishops' Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, delivered a 20-minute presentation pushing bishops to pressure state and federal governments to legislate "common sense" gun laws.
In his presentation, Dewayne showed a list of "gun policies supported by the USCCB," including:
* assault weapon ban
* universal background checks
* limit large capacity magazines
* federal law to criminalized gun trafficking
* improved access to mental health care
* limitations on handguns
* gun locks and safe storage
* assessment of violence in media
He also noted, "Such regulations are helpful, but they will not ban gun violence completely," adding, "For that to happen, we need new ways of thinking. At the heart of the epidemic is a shooter. That shooter somehow in some way turns inward on pain or isolation or illusions that it becomes possible to become desensitized to others, that he loses all empathy."

I had my fill in the 1980’s and walked away when the phony so-called cardinal Roger Mahoney was the head honcho in Los Angeles.
Even then, he was urging people to vote for democrats, pushing illegal immigration, gun grabbing, etc.
Now, I heard he still says mass in North Hollywood and has covered up for thirty “priests” who had homosexual relations with 240 underage teenage boys and young men.
If they’re going to get political, which they have for years, then it’s time for the catholic church to pay real estate taxes on all church properties, for starters.
Stupid is as stupid does. I wonder how we managed to get such stupid bishops and Pope...
Bad luck or globalist oligarch influence. Rhetorical question. Obviously the latter.
Why is there even a Bishop’s Conference when they seem oblivious to the real concerns of the faithful.
They don’t want the altar boys to be able to defend themselves from priestly predators.
This is bad. But it and the smearing of the Catholic Church as a bunch of pedophiles are part of the same effort.
Both are aimed at destroying the idea of limited government by the People.
The first is aimed at disarming us.
The second is aimed at smearing Christianity.

Protesters Question Archbishop’s Loyalty To US
Protest LA Archbishop Jose Gomez Residence
Dozens of protesters have shown up at Archbishop of Los Angelus Jose Gomez residence. Many carrying American flags and bearing signs questioning Gomez’s loyalty to the US not Mexico along with many signs demanding equal rights for American citizens in Mexico.
The protest was apparently triggered by the clerics decision to push forward with his predecessors decision the disgraced Cardinal Mahoney by offering amnesty thus citizenship to Mexicans who crossed the border illegally. While thousands of Americans in Mexico suffer under 2nd class citizenship unable to own property and suffer indignitys let alone participate in Mexican elections while living there in Mexico.
A spokeswoman for the group, *Harriet Hildegarden insisted her group consists of Catholics loyal to the church. “We will be protesting at other locations where prominent clergy of the church have sided with the Obama regime”. “Hildy” claims the church is supporting the democrat party which denied God at their convention and declared what she claims is war on the Catholics but would collude with it on “social engineering” issues including “amnesty” . When asked if she may be denied communion for her activities her reply was “Well it’s been known that when that happens quicker when clerics get personally attacked than when some politician challenges the church on the grounds of faith and morals” * Fictional name used not intended to reflect on any so named person living or deceased
