Did billionaire speculator George Soros, President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, and Obama/Clinton adviser John Podesta conspire to overthrow the conservative Pope Benedict XVI and replace him with a radical, Pope Francis? Did they use America’s intelligence agencies, and our nation’s diplomatic machinery, political muscle, and financial power to coerce and blackmail “regime change” in the Roman Catholic Church?
Far from being some wild conspiracy theory, there is sound prima facie evidence to indicate that this is a serious effort to expose a political scandal of the highest order, involving flagrant, criminal abuse of power at the top levels of the U.S. government. A group of respected Catholic lay leaders have sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to launch an official investigation into the activities of the above mentioned individuals (and others) who appear to have been involved in this alleged Vatican coup. They cite eight specific questions they seek to have answered concerning suspect events that led to the resignation of Pope Benedict, the first such papal abdication in 700 years.
“We were alarmed to discover,” their letter notes, “that, during the third year of the first term of the Obama administration your previous opponent, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other government officials with whom she associated proposed a Catholic ‘revolution’ in which the final demise of what was left of the Catholic Church in America would be realized.” The letter includes footnote links that take the reader to documents and news stories underscoring their charges and pointed questions. It first directs attention to the Soros-Clinton-Podesta e-mails disclosed last year by WikiLeaks, in which Podesta and other “progressives” discussed ending the “middle ages dictatorship” in the Catholic Church. You beat me to it. That was my question also. And no, I won’t buy the excuse that he was somehow threatened. Benedict is well aware of the importance of martyrs. So I don’t think he’d shy away from risking his own life.

Or...and maybe this is crazy...but just maybe he was telling the truth, that he was tired and his health wasn't great, that he'd hoped to retire before even being named pope, and that he didn't feel he was up to the challenges of leading a vast worldwide organization in a time of crisis.

That’s quite possible, of course. Maybe it’s even probable. But there have been many tired and sick popes throughout history. Very few have resigned. And Benedict, being a traditionalist, does not seem to be the type of guy to cut and run.
Besides that, I love a good conspiracy.

The most credible speculation has been that he was pressured to resign by people within Italian intelligence who was doing an investigation of cover ups of sexual abuse by Church officials and irregularities in the Vatican Bank

Italy, the former regime, was part of the coup against Donald Trump. We can bet the same players were in on sacking Pope Benedict.

You both beat me to it and that’s also my question. If he was “all that”...and if a Pope is the defender of the Faith first and foremost...he should have said “bring it big boy” if this conspiracy is true-that is. Seems more likely that he was blackmailed out of the position. Otherwise-he should be spilling the beans if he’s a hero and truly loves the Lord and His church. Why would he let the devil (and make no mistake-Francis is a devil in Papal garb) have it?
It has been 700 years since a Pope retired. Pope Francs is Obama’s Pope.
