All this obsession over Mary and no apparent obsession over Jesus - even though part of His purpose was to allow us to develop a personal relationship with Him as He walked among us as a man and to give us a direct line to God the Father....yet we also get obsessed with praying to dead mortals to “intercede” for us.....because other mortals derided these particular dead mortals have sway over their Creator.
I don’t get it.
As Mary said in Luke.
You think you know it all, but in reality you know but a fraction of what the truth is. It is not up to me to reveal things to you, it is up to God.
The way I look at it, we are on the same journey towards heaven. You rely on scripture only, which Catholics rely on too. But Catholic also have the beautiful traditions that have been passed down as it also says in scripture. Protestants disbelieve the traditions handed down. I’m sorry you will never know the church’s full beauty as God intended it to be.
Mary can’t contradict Jesus. It’s not possible.
It appears twofold:
I've YET to see ANY Catholic on this thread produce any valid evidence to either one.
You sure are doing a heck of a lot of ASSUMING in these statements.
I've read something like that; somewhere...
Almost...
His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it
John 2:5
I deny it as it is an assumption; proven by NO 'facts'.
Just what are those traditions Paul was referring to that he handed down that we are to keep that were not included in Scripture?
How do you know?
How do you know theyre from the apostles, Paul in particular?
How do you know theyve been passed down faithfully?
What is your source for verifying all of the above?
Please provide the sources for verification purposes.
How can you be so sure?
Why do you assume it was HER business to intervene in what the Master of the banquet had planned and prepared for?
7 Jesus said to the servants, Fill the jars with water; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.
They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.
Must have been a BIG party; as there were 6 large containers, between 20-30 gallons each, filled up. If these guests ALREADY had "too much to drink" before the miracle; can you imagine the results AFTER the 'best' had been consumed?
You've been taught this backward.
I don't think I'm a demon; but I will admit to being a non-Catholic.
Rome's 'Mary' doesn't threaten to humble me at all.
She supplies NOTHING I cannot get from Christ; alone.
Speculation.
The reason we see things differently is because you dont believe in the true presence of Jesus in the eucharist.
BECAUSE??
I guess you are right.
If I believed this , then I'd surely be more open to 'believe' in other things the church taught me; too.
BECAUSE it is needed to prop up the REST of the assumptions made about her.
Have you forgotten that she made an offering to get RID of her UNPURENESS?
Luke 2:22-24
When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord), and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: a pair of doves or two young pigeons.
9. The whole world is filled with her glory, and this is especially true of Christian peoples, who have chosen her as guardian and protectress of kingdoms, provinces, dioceses, and towns. Many cathedrals are consecrated to God in her name. There is no church without an altar dedicated to her, no country or region without at least one of her miraculous images where all kinds of afflictions are cured and all sorts of benefits received. Many are the confraternities and associations honouring her as patron; many are the orders under her name and protection; many are the members of sodalities and religious of all congregations who voice her praises and make known her compassion. There is not a child who does not praise her by lisping a Hail Mary. There is scarcely a sinner, however hardened, who does not possess some spark of confidence in her. The very devils in hell, while fearing her, show her respect.
Then; since you've already judged us thus; you may save time by not praying for us.
Ya just GOT to!!!
Who has denied all the MATH shown on this thread?
Marvel should latch on to her in it’s next Super Hero movie!
Who has known the mind of GOD?
I guess the seven Catholic churches that the angel told John to write to must have missed that 'beauty'; too.
I know that EVERY Catholic bible has ACTS 15 in it.
I'm sure that the 'beauty' of the TRADITIONS are to be seen there as well.
