Amazon has permanently removed from its website books by Joseph Nicolosi, who was often referred to as the "father of conversion therapy," in a move some say portends censorship of anything Christian regarding sexuality.
For months the global online retail giant has been petitioned by LGBT activists who have urged the company to discontinue selling the works of Nicolosi, a clinical psychologist and Catholic author who died in 2017, NBC reported this week. Nicolosi wrote several works about homosexuality in men and therapeutic approaches for persons with same-sex attraction.
A Change.org petition that was launched five months ago and has garnered over 80,000 signatures that asks Amazon to stop selling his books links conversion therapy to aversion therapy practices such as electroshock and taking medications to "cure" homosexuals into becoming heterosexual. In the past few years, several states have adopted bans on so-called conversion therapy for minors. LGBT activists assert the practice is harmful, discredited, and contributes to the suicide of LGBT persons.
Yet some say the phrase is a ruse and that Amazon's decision is hypocritical in light of other materials from which they continue to profit.

I wonder when the Pendulum finally swings the other way (and it always does), how History will look at all the “woke” companies that enabled the perverted mentally ill? I suspect most of those companies won’t survive in the long run, cheaper less intrusive competition will run them out.
This is religious discrimination and probably a federal civil rights violation.
Hopefully, there will be a lawsuit.

I presume that any such therapy and medication taken by a homosexual would be voluntary as they are seeking help?
I can only imagine the vast collection of works on Amazon that promotes conversion therapy that gives medications to males to turn them into “females”?
Hmm - one can probably purchase estrogen on Amazon without a doctor’s prescription.
And just the tip of the iceberg. Do a simple images search for “drag queen story hour” and you will not believe how many similar and even worse images there are out there.
The SOB commie-left is using these weirdos to promote the destruction of the culture, and ultimately the country. If they (the commie left) ever do ultimately win out and take over, these pathetic sickos would be the first to go. Communists have no tolerance for this perversion. To put things in context as it relates specifically to the subject of the article, one must understand Catholic teaching on the topic and the actual 'science' involved. In a nutshell, Catholic teaching is that homosexual tendencies, cause unknown, are intrinsically disordered and engaging in homosexual activity should be avoided. The 'science' involved regarding 'therapy' has everything to do with behavioral psychology.
As well, Catholic teaching states that individuals have free will and just because they may be inclined or predisposed to engage in sin, cause unknown, does not mean they have no choice but to do so. In other words; sinful thoughts are beyond our control; however, sinful activity must be avoided, sin must not be engaged in and if one repeatedly engages in sinful activity it ill further entrench one in the activity --the activity will become habitual and normalized.
Finally, those that seek to remove themselves from and avoid sinful activity should be helped by the Church.
In a nutshell, an apt analogy might be comparing habitual sin to alcoholism. One may always feel predisposed to consume alcohol; however, this does not mean one has to actually consume alcohol and that there is support and there are coping strategies based upon behavioral psychology that can be learned by those seeking to do so.

I guess what I’m saying is that no woman with intelligence is going to at all get together with a man who declares he used to be gay, but is now straight. Unless both just want a marriage/relationship of friendship only.
I agree that a man can choose to not engage in homosexual acts, but he will never, ever, ever be straight. Ever.
