I will recant anything that was wrong to state as I remain faithful to the Church and Magisterium.
Is Bishop Steven J Lopes homosexual?
Canon law defines schism as denial of communion with the Roman Pontiff or those in communion with him. Where did Fr. Treco do that?

Maybe the parish members backed their priest and stopped all donations, stopped attending and the Bishop closed the parish.
Just another small skirmish in the battle that is coming. The bishops can pen stern letters, assemble synods and even excommunicate priests, but in the end Christ will have his bride back.

Not being a member of said parish, nor even Catholic, though I do follow events as time allows, it seems that the Reverend Bishop has decided that any priest who contradicts the modernist approach of Popes since Vatican II is promoting schism and must be done away with. It is obvious that he was afraid to specify his actions by defining the offending teaching of the priest, for to do so would show his motives to be contrary to Church teaching.

Father Treco's excommunication has deprived him of the means to support his family. In response, backers have set up a GoFundMe page as well as a PayPal account in an attempt to raise funds to sustain them until Fr. Treco can secure secular employment.

The Ordinariate (knowing people in it) is terrified of Francis, and I guess this was an attempt by Bp Lopes to suck up to Francis and reassure him that there was not even a hint of less than total Frankie adoration.
Everybody, please give up a candy bar, a bag of potato chips or a couple of beers, and send a small donation to his GoFundMe page.
Even better, zero out your diocesan appeal (unless you have a bishop named, say, "Strickland") and send the total to Fr. Treco.
Don't do the pathetic least you could do.

Hard to imagine the bishop could do this unilaterally? I can’t find any objection to the homily or the priest’s follow-on explanations.
