>>Everything necessary for salvation - eternal life in the presence of God, and everything necessary for Christian maturity.”<<

Where does it say that in the Bible? God has never said that he would not give man additional insight.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 from NASB translation:

16All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Acts 17:11 NASB

teppe: "Also many Christians believe in a conjecture called the ‘rapture’ that is non-biblical, but dates back some 200 years to a dream some woman had who never even claimed to be a prophet of God." BZZZT! Wrong.

Jesus referenced His coming to take believers to the Father's House (John14). Paul detailed the event (1 Thess 4:13-17) and even revealed the mystery of the event (1 Cor 15:51 and following). Darby wrote on the Rapture three years before hearing of the 'woman' (she was a teenager and her 'vision' has nothing to do with The Rapture of the Ekklesia. There is reference to the Rapture in the writings of the early 'Church Fathers', like Viktor in his exposition on The Revelation of John.

You really don't know much at all, just what your cult teaches you. And much of that is twisted far from the truth.

Actually, some of the Temples have a squire type figure on the top of the spear or needle..I am assuming it is Joseph Smith or Brigham Young...

Again, I am curious about Mormon belief in The Resurrection.

Crazy post teppe!

Is Heavenly Mother a god??
Are there multiple Heavenly Mothers (celestial polygamy)?
How many God’s are there in mormonville?

If they are all God’s, are they as powerful as Heavenly Father?

If not, why?

If a god is not omnipotent (all powerful), how can you consider it a god?

Do you, teppe, hope to be a god of your own world some day?

Do you hope your wife becomes a Heavenly Mother, churning out spirit babies?

Do you hope to have a world of your own to rule over as a god?

I don’t believe it’s my job to tell someone else what or how to believe. None of us has any idea of God’s ways of getting into people and bringing them to His Light; or what influences at certain points in development may be individually valuable or even vital.

There are beliefs I disagree with, and certainly some practices; but given devotion to the Golden Rule and ‘the greatest of these is Love’, condemning and dictating in these matters is way above my pay grade.

God has not revealed the presence of a Heavenly Mother, period! It is only a conjecture or theory, your post or claims are not LDS doctrine. I will only debate doctrine, not conjecture/theory.

So My Question to You: Are you going to believe Christ’s own words in the Bible about his oneness with God as in John 17: 21-24 ....

....or are you going to believe in the Fable that Paul Paul prophsisied about in 2nd Timothy ... of which the most notorious is the Nicene Creed?

I will give you another biblical example which demonstrates the Fable of the Nicene Creed: When Christ was dying on the Cross he called out to God the Father asking why he had abandoned him! Afterwhich he claimed, it is done, into thy hands I commend my spirit. (Matthew 27:45-50)

If God, Christ and the Holy Ghost were just multiple-personalities of the same diety .... God could not have abandoned Christ!!!

Hah! Again proof of your Nicene Fable!!!

Time for you to get with the program and ask God in complete humility and in a reverence ready to completely accept his answer with all the energy of your soul if Jesus Christ is his only Begotten Son, or just an equal third part of his multiple personality identity crisis!

I testify to you, that if you can muster enough humility to accept his will and completely reject your previous belief in ancient christian fables that he will manifest it to you by the power of the Holy Ghost.

But beware, he will only manifest it to you if you are completely honest in your heart and ready to accept ‘full-steam’ his answer to you. Otherwise, he will recognize your duplicity and give you nothing. That is how God and personal revelation works.

Mormon lifts ban on baptisms for children of gay parents

The problem with the Church of LDS is that it doesn't base its beliefs on Scripture, but on the "revelation" of church leaders.

It's why they could think black people bore the curse of Ham in the 1960s, but that they can become "elders" in their church today.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that all human beings, male and female, are beloved spirit children of heavenly parents, a Heavenly Father and a Heavenly Mother. This understanding is rooted in scriptural and prophetic teachings about the nature of God, our relationship to Deity, and the godly potential of men and women.1 The doctrine of a Heavenly Mother is a cherished and distinctive belief among Latter-day Saints.2

Teppe, please answer my questions about what *you* believe...

I do believe the Scriptures, but not the mormonic “see & say” version.

What are your answers??

I’m fascinated by the religious bigotry and hate here for Mormons .all these commercial churches have their little rituals and legalistic practices. That is why I reject the commercial “church” for a main line to eternal life through the atoning propitiation of Jesus, the Son of God. All who do so , including the Mormon brothers and Sisters are saved as you are.

You poor soul, there is no hate for Mormons. But the religion of Mormonism is ferrying people to hell, and that pisses some of us off immensely.

Agreed. This forum is full of religious hatred. Must be nice to be so sure of yourself that you can smuggly condemn others to hell. There are BILLIONS of non-Christians on this planet. Presumably an all-knowing, all-loving omniscient god knows this. Yet he indifferently condemns them to eternal damnation? Seems a peculiar way to run a railroad.

That is the wonderful thing God did for man. He sacrificed His Son for our sin and corruption. You accept that or you go to oblivion.( hades in Greek)

If just one Mormon takes a chance and reads it, it will have been worth my time to mention it. :)
