The writer of this article is pretty soft on the whole LGBTQBLTABCEFG thing.
Seems to take a shot at conservatives at some points in the article.
What kind of “church” knowingly lets in LGBT?

Maybe the church doesn’t bend its beliefs to suit pc agendas.
As for those in the global church who participated in this smackdown of North American Methodist mission and evangelism, they may soon regret the loss of financial support from a considerably weakened North American Methodism.

So the African bishops push hard for the Traditional Plan but then the author comes back and claims the UMC is racist because it is the church of 61 year old men?
Um. No. You can't have it both ways.
This guy is acting like a modern day liberal, throwing all sorts of crap against the wall just to see what sticks.

Lots of pious prattle in the article; all the right “theological” words lined up in rows, but supportive of modern liberal revision, not traditional scriptural beliefs.

Unity itself has no holiness in and of itself - to make Unity the ultimate goal is to abandon God.
Light and darkness have nothing in common. To try to join them is impossible.
While there is forgiveness for every sin, sin itself is never condoned or embraced by our Lord Jesus.

There is no standard they’ll not gladly abandon.
On another note, progressive physicists talk of “Maxwell’s Rumors”.
As best I can tell, nothing really changed. The same rules are still intact. This is nothing but the PTB getting the vapors and retiring to the fainting couches because they didn’t win.
LGBT folks will not leave the church. If they were going to leave the church, they would have done so before this vote. Their goal is to destroy the church, not reform it.
PCUSA lost ~300 churches when they finally passed the New World order.

You’ve lost 30% of your membership because their really is no point to being a Methodist anymore. I’ve been to several Methodist services. It’s the same message: Basically God is too nice to condemn anyone. The whole “Salvation for All!” message comes so easily that no one has to really do much of anything. It’s not hard to infer that also includes coming to church. The final death knell is sounded when you blatantly include openly-practicing same-sex couples...especially in positions of leadership. At that point anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows you are not practicing Christianity. Sure, you practicing some new religion, and maybe it has the veneer of Christianity about it. But any serious investigation is going to conclude you’ve departed significantly from original intent of Christian teaching.

I looked elsewhere because I couldn’t stand to listen to more Hippie Jesus, gun control, and acceptance of sodomites (and their behavior). I guess I’m part of that 30%.
How long can a church last with a congregation made up of gays and really old people who cannot even conceive of what those fellows were doing just a few hours before attending church? Unrepentant sinners are to be excluded.
