Problem's deeper than that. One of the issues is Sola Scriptura. Key issue is that nowhere in the New Testament does it refer to the books currently in the New Testament, as being on a "list" of Scriptures.

Never ceases to amaze me that Roman Catholics, who claim to have given us the Bible, seem to be the first to want to dismiss it.

That list was compiled by the Christian Church a thousand years before Luther (broadly speaking).

Christian yes....but not Roman Catholic. Rome didn't officially recognize their canon until Trent...and even then they got it wrong by elevating "Tradition" to the status of Scripture. And at Trent, Rome had the chance to add so many of the other writings as Scripture to their canon....that they didn't is telling.

The major problem with Roman Catholicism is so much of its teachings are in contradiction of the Bible.

Just on this thread I've compared the false promises of the brown scapular to Scripture.

Either the scapular is right or Scripture is....they both cannot be.

We have been given the written word for a reason.

If sola scriptura is insufficient, then the Mormon has to be allowed their non-biblical books. It would also open up the door to a whole bunch of other non-Biblical writings for the Roman Catholic.

A simple word search of the Bible will allow the Bible to testify to the sufficiency of Scripture.

You’re not helping your position any. Inclusion of numerous bible verses, just because they have the word “read” in them, does not establish the man-made teaching that all that will ever be necessary for Salvation is in Scripture. Naaman the Syrian and the thief on the cross are both examples: they did not study the Scriptures.
You appear to me to be confusion the expiration for sin (the Cross/resurrection) with whatever vehicle God happens to use in order to bring people to a point that He has an excuse to be Merciful to them. “Being saved” is just the *beginning* : some of the Catholic mystics (try St. Theresa of Avila for example) or St. Thomas Aquinas (”I have seen things which make all my writings look like straw.”) are quite clear on this.
