[He did not show any fruit of repentance.]
He did admit he was guilty of sin and asked the Lord to save him for eternity.
Luke 23:39-43 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
39 One of the criminals who were hanged there was [a]hurling abuse at Him, saying, Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us! 40 But the other answered, and rebuking him said, Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong. 42 And he was saying, Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom! 43 And He said to him, Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.
People grouse that the thief wasn’t baptized too.
Repent- greek=metaknoia, or changing one’s mind. What does that have to do with “fruit”?
Christian’s fall down, and get up. As we live, we ought to be falling down less of course, but as long as we are in the flesh, we are subject to the fall; but being conformed to the image of Christ.
The Bible says we (believers) are the righteousness of God in Christ. Amazing!
