The Turkish Supreme Court rejected a request from one of the religious groups. They had asked for the historical museum of Hagia Sophia to be transformed into a mosque. According to the Anatolian agency reporting the news on Thursday, the Court dismissed the case because of errors made in the written request.
The basilica of Hagia Sophia was transformed into a mosque during the fall of Constantinople in 1453, then into a museum in 1935. According to Turkish law, worship is prohibited in museums.

This is good news. There will come a day when the great church will once again be a Christian house of worship.
This is one of the world’s greatest buildings of all time and one of the main reasons to visit Istanbul. It needs to be open to all the world’s people to show just what humanity is capable of. It is truly awe-inspiring.
The Day will come when Justinian’s Church will be a shinning beacon of faith it was built to be. Byzantium will rise again! Perhaps as a part of a new Russian Empire.
It has been every Russian Tsars dream since Peter the Great to control the Bosporus, Istanbul and the Dardanelles.
I just wish I could see it as built, not as its been whitewashed into Islam....
What the Tsars couldn’t do—maybe Putin Can. First he must break Turkey out of NATO. The foolish Turks are helping him in this. Then break up Turkey and pick up the pieces. A weak, shattered Turkey would be popular in Greece! Israel would be pleased.
