I am relocating in a few months and would like to live in Southern California. It could be almost anywhere -- Santa Barbara to Temecula. The one **attraction** I am after is to find an evangelical (and Bible teaching) church with a choir, no entertainment, no band nor drum set on stage. Maybe, even a place where the pastor-teacher wears a tie and slacks, not jeans and a t-shirt.
Seriously --- Am I hoping for too much?
Well, then, this is a very big help because I’d but all given up on Baptist churches. I will refer to this list when I arrive.
Will do.

These are the kinds of churches I have gone to. They will preach faith/repentance as two sides of one coin, that brings regeneration, if they meet the qualifications to be on this list:
This is a church in the north Los Angeles area with a long strong commitment to biblical teaching. John MacArthur is the senior pastor there.
Looks like there are about 8 OPC churches scattered around the Los Angeles area. Most of them would probably fit your requirements.
(Disclosure - I am NOT, and never have been, a member of an OPC church)
In addition to Grace Community, what other church has an organ and is apt to hear “Rock of Ages” on a Sunday morning.
not be but perhaps eliroom8
I just recommended orthodox Presbyterian to someone recently for just those reasons.
seem to be the only ones left besides the high church break-off Anglicans and the Latin Mass Catholics. at least in this neck of the woods.
Stop in at any Catholic Church with perpetual adoration and I can almost guarantee they will have an awesome choir and no drum set. Services are open to the public and you have no obligation to become Catholic. If you just need a peaceful place to pray, no one will notice or likely even say hello unless you engage them first.

“”evangelical (and Bible teaching) church with a choir, no entertainment, no band nor drum set on stage””
Those are the requirements (preference) the poster mentioned and in spite of the long list you posted, I dare say none of them would fit. We found a wonderful fundamental Baptist church after we moved to GA from CA and there were the suits/ties/no jeans/wonderful choir/fabulous piano player and I think all that’s left is the fabulous piano player.....no choir, lots of noise called music, same pastor but now in jeans and sport shirt and truthfully a real turn-off!
I made the decision that we were going to attend church there after the first sermon and I saw the hymnals on the back of the pews. My husband said, “Is this what you’re looking for” and I said, “Absolutely - they have hymnals.” Plus the pastor and sermon was real without worrying about “political correctness” - didn’t worry about driving congregants away! HA!
Sadly - I do not like the changes. A lot of members have left; some who really were the glue for senior events which were great. Got to see a lot in GA we would never have seen without participating in the senior trips. An older family pastor left and he was only reason I could get my husband to join.
Would be fine if there wasn’t a pipe organ. Do not like them. Feel the same about bagpipes. A lot of noise!
Sorry to repost again, but for Grace Community Church they livestream their services at 10:30 am Sunday https://www.gracechurch.org/live. You could know exactly what their service is like without having to drive there.
Mira Mesa...
Good call.
Hi Eli
Pat Buchanan does not represent mainstream traditional Catholic thought any more than the Pope does.
Since the first Church martyred were being eaten alive in the Roman Coliseum, faithful Catholics have been freely giving their lives for their faith.
Again, you dont need to find out what its like cause it is THE SAME anywhere in the world. Go to: https://masstimes.org to find a parish close to home. Look for one with an adoration chapel as another has mentioned.
