Not tough, not “slippery” at all. If the chain of authority is not clear, it’s probably because it isn’t present.
You can find the clear chain of proper authority in the One, True, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Christ Jesus.
I disagree with you, but dont want to debate it. So Ill just ask how much time have you spent pouring over the Scriptures to verify the claims of Rome? Are you a Berean in the spirit of Acts 17? Have you truly considered other views on Romes claims? I dont matter, so those are questions for you to answer to yourself, not to me. Most men arent honest, even with themselves. Most men dont study. Most men put their eternal souls in the hands of others. Most men are fooled spiritually. The Bible teaches there is a way that seems right to men, but the end thereof is death. On what basis did Rome convince you?
The article specifically mentions non-denominational churches. That is where authority becomes an issue because often there is very little outside accountability.
Chain of authority? You can list a series of people who sat in a chair. Where's the promise? Why put your faith in men?
And what of the times the chair was empty or had 2 or even 3 people who claimed the chair?
And what of the early times where they didn't keep track of who was in the chair? They had to go back and reconstruct the record and all of the accounts didn't agree.
Besides, the chain of authority doesn't even make sense. We're not talking about master and student. It's not like the current pope teaches the next pope. It's a series of people who puts their butt on a chair.
love this Pope eh?

Yes you can...Based upon the customs of the Catholic institution...But it's not biblical...
You don't have pastors in the Catholic religion, you have priests...
To my understanding this thread pertains to those churches which have pastors who are married with families, and none are acceptably homosexual...
Your religion has a different authority for its religion than we bible believers do...
Oh, so you're Eastern Orthodox then?
Why do they preach against what Jesus said then?
