You are correct BB. Spiritual poverty is a good description for it. There seems to be a lot of that on these threads.
Some Scripture comes to mind. Hebrews 2:3. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him. Hebrews 10:31. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Yes, fearful. The kind of fear that no unsaved, unspiritual, unregenerate man can ever begin to imagine. It culminates in the awful words, in Matthew 25:41, Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. This is no laughing matter at all, but the Lake of Fire awaits ALL unregenerate men.

You know BB, if Jesus didn’t really rise from the dead, what have I lost? Absolutely nothing. On the other hand, if He did, and I believe he did, what have these other people lost? They have lost their immortal souls, and will pay an awful price, and it will be truly awful. Why do so many trifle with this, and go on leading sinful lives, as though none of this matters, and there won’t be a day of rechoning. I don’t get it, but that is a total lack of any spiritual discernment at all. A TOTAL lack, but it’s on them. God provided a way of escape. It’s a shame only a few find it.
1 Corinth 1514 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. Yes, it’s all that, but more than trying to make a doctrinal statement, on the finer points of the resurrection, I am merely trying to say, that for those who refuse to become born anew from above, a fate so awful and horrible awaits them, that there are no words to adequately describe it. Most people go through life in false religions, or no religion at all, uncaring and completely oblivious to eternity. They will be in for a shock, that they will never recover from. It doesn’t have to be that way.

Not hate. I’m asking how you know? It’s not in Scripture that God inspired. You can’t demonstrate ANY Apostle ever believed or taught it. No one before 100 ad believed it. How can you know it is true?
I believe all the Scholars and Doctors of the Church. What are your credentials?
It is either revealed by God through His Word or it isn’t. It is either demonstrably part of the Apostle’s Tradition or it isn’t.

Allow the possibility of God in His Mercy providing other channels for His Grace than the ones explicitly described during the Old Covenant...on the same principle as St. Paul's "I have become all things to all men , that I might by all means save some."
(And remember, that even the Law itself was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.)
So when love is not exhibited, guess what happens?
