He’s not the first pope to value peace over freedom.
Does that mean that he is eliminating the Swiss Guard?
Didn’t think so.
Well then pope, why do you have Swiss armed guards?
They’re ceremonial, he’d say. Like tradition, ya know?
Bowe Bergdahl up for sainthood?
It’s ... ‘Thou shall not Murder”...there is a difference.
Does the Pope shit in the woods?
How nice of this papal pretender to lend meaning to the spirit of Martin Luther during the 500th anniversary of the protest of corruption, heresy, and apostasy within the Roman Catholic Church.
I pray that this vile and contemptible Quisling is soon called home to face judgment and that he is replaced by a true man of faith.
The world faces hard times and all Jews and Christians will need a believing Catholic Church to act as a bulwark against the foes of Islam and atheism. We can’t afford half of Christianity to be led by a secular humanist and socialist.
There has been some discussion whether the commandment should read “THOU SHALT MURDER” as opposed to “THOU SHALT NOT KILL”.
In its travels, the people fleeing Egypt came upon a warlike people. They drew up their army as Moses told his people, “As long as my arms are raised to God, he will protect us.”
After a while, the Jewish forces held their ground but Moses felt his arms tire, as they slowly fell. God came to Moses and Moses arms were uplifted and the Jewish army carried the day.
Sadly, there comes a time an circumstance that the continuation of life requires the act of “KILL!”.
Without the SOLDIER the flag over the Vatican today could well have been the SWASTIKA. Also, I’m sure the Swiss Guards are not armed with “paint ball guns.”
He, like bammy, hates this country. Explains a lot.
Why is it assumed he is talking about the soldiers who fight the wars? I thought he was talking about bad civilian-political leaders who don’t care about the soldiers and hunger for war and don’t want to discuss peace.
In my opinion, the assumption that he denigrated “soldiers” is a cheap shot. I think he is owed an apology. Why would he pay his respects at a cemetery if he was calling soldiers “warmongers”?
I don’t like the confusion Francis is causing in the Church with his fuzzy treatment of Communion for the divorced and remarried without an annulment. I don’t care for his appointments of liberals as Bishops and Cardinals. There are any number of things he has said and done that I don’t care for and I much prefer SJPII and PB16 (PEB). But this is a cheap shot, an extremely uncharitable interpretation of something he said in an attempt to stir up animosity against him. The fervor to get him, to criticize everything he says and does results in incorrect, poor, fevered thinking against him at times, in my opinion.

St. Cornelius, centurion
St. Expeditius, centurion
St. Longinus, centurion
St. Joan of Arc
St. Nicetas
Sigh...Do I expect him to say anything less?
Because he did so while at the Nettuno US War Cemetery.
The jerk has to turn every important Catholic occasion into a political statement.
Wasn’t St. Francis of Assisi was a soldier until serious wounds brought him home to stay? Or, wasn’t St. Ignatius Loyola a dedicated soldier before he became a mystic?
What did John the Baptist say to some soldiers who asked him what they should do? He told them, to be content with their pay. He didn’t tell them to quit being soldiers.
Certainly not a fan of this Pope. I had to dig a couple levels into this story to find out what he actually said... which had nothing to do with the soldiers fighting the wars, and everything to do with the politicians/leaders that create them.
Let’s not perpetuate lies. There’s enough truth out there to cast doubt on him.
