NO ONE KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR?
At the Time of the End, the wise shall understand. Dan 12:10
Understanding the expression "No man knows the day or hour" is not possible by simply taking the English translation literally, because in the book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation, we are given EXACT descriptions of timing, relative to KEY events - such as the shutting down of the altar sacrifices in Jerusalem at the MID-POINT of the 70th week. Dan 9:27
Jesus was asked, "When shall these things be?" Matt 24:3
His answer ties us in to a very specific event (The Abomination of Desolation) which can be measured on our calendars: "When you therefore shall see the Abomination Of Desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever reads, let him understand:)..." Matt 24:15.
It is now clear that "no man knows the day or hour" does NOT mean "no man knows the day or hour" as we read it from a modern-day English perspective.
>From his book "Signs In the Heavens" by Avi Ben Mordechai, he devotes a chapter to explaining what "no man knows the day or hour" truly means from a rabbinical Hebraic perspective. It is a figure of speech.
. . . (lengthy article)
Once proclaimed, the Feast of Trumpets (RoshHaShanah) commenced. Until that public announcement by the Nassi, everyone had to wait before they could begin the observance of the festival. No one could begin the festival beforehand! Thus, we can more clearly see the analogy Jesus made with His words: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only" was in regards to this important festival of Rosh HaShanah.

>>So are you just being disruptive on purpose for the fun of it?<<
No, not at all. I believe what I posted and sincerely felt it should go up. At the same time I anticipated the reaction. I know how virulent those are who oppose the pre-trib rapture have been and will be, however.
I love this one of a baby getting glasses and seeing for the first time:

Jesus wasn’t a real lamb? I guess he didn’t die for ewe.
I love it when people cant help celebrating that they will piss people off with what they have done.
I dont even have a dog in this fight other than you mis reading your bible.
AND
I can tell you are here for nothing more than pissing those off that dont agree with you because thats exactly what you said you were glad you were doing in the post that you wrote that got deleted.
It is now clear that “no man knows the day or hour” does NOT mean “no man knows the day or hour”
It is kind of hard for an ignorant fellow like me to get by with but some one who has a college education can find all kinds of definitions to make a scripture appear that it is saying exactly opposite of what it is saying.
Jesus tells us not to call any one on earth father, but the Catholics and some protestants tries to twist it around to not mean anything.
Jimmy crickets, did`nt Jesus tell the truth about anything?
No if you put it in religion where it belongs then it stays there
It is blog pimpers like you who keep dragging it into the wrong area
I really don’t care what you personally believe. It ain’t news
Why in the world would I reposted something that got pulled because someone complained?
Not at all
;)
Exactly- the whole context of preceding verses and post verses lays out His second coming- not the raputre
I didn’t ask for a repost but a reminder. It was you who suggested that I, as a noob, should take direction. I respected that. So I was following your recommendation and trying to remember what was said. But you are just furious.
Apologies to all of you seething preterits,
Mathew 16
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
That was two thousand years ago, i don`t know if i am a preterits or not but i have no doubt that two thousand years took in a lot of prophicy.
Thank you; I think that may be along the lines of what was posted in #13.
[[There are two events discussed in Matthew 24: the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Coming. The failure to distinguish between the two is what leads to confusion. One has come to pass; the other is still in the future.]]
There is also a distinction between the rapture and the second coming- the second coming is not the rapture- the context of Matt & the verse about hour and day is speaking of the second coming- not the rapture apparently— Many have always just assumed the verse on hour and day referred to rapture- but a careful reading of the whole context shows that it is speaking of His second coming and beginning of judgment by Christ/God-
The correct response to Sept 23 or any other date is something along the lines of:
“There —SEEMS TO BE— some signs that are lining up that —COULD INDICATE— That the Rapture —MIGHT OCCUR— on Sept 23...And here is why it —MIGHT— (cite evidences that —MAY INDICATE— that the rapture —MIGHT HAPPEN—)... But, IF the rapture does not happen at that time, then we will carry on as usual, and look forward to God rapturing us before we die sometime in the future if we’re fortunate...”
Soem folks seem to get mighty insistent and adamant one way or the other- as though it’s an ‘all or nothing’ situation- Yet there is room for error AND for hope that it —COULD HAPPEN because (fill in the blank)
We should look with high anticipation that it —COULD HAPPEN— and be prepared to carry on if it indeed doesn’t happen- if it doesn’t- it doesn’t mean we have to stop looking and hoping either- There may yet be future signs that take place that are —MORE INDICATIVE— that the rapture might be imminent- but there does —SEEM TO BE— some pretty good signs lining up for Sept 23 (or soon after) that were not present in earlier guesstimates-
Not even close.
Dead thread.
Thank you; I think that may be along the lines of what was posted in #13.
I have no idea what was posted on 13
And when is that . . . exactly?
