The "Ecumenical Mass" Has Started
Gloria TV ^ | September 16, 2017 | Gloria TV

The group "Spezzare il pane" ("Breaking the Bread") in the archdiocese of Turin, Italy, has officially started with the celebration of "ecumenical masses" where Holy Communion is distributed to Catholics and non-Catholics.

The group is headed by Father Fredo Oliviero, an apologist for illegal immigration, who has the support of his archbishop, Monsignor Cesare Nosiglia. The practice of the group to distribute Holy Communion to non-Catholics, is openly promoted in the newspaper of Turin Archdiocese "La Voce e il Tempo".

Among the members of the group are "Catholics", Anglicans, Baptists, Waldensians and Lutherans. They gather once a month in one of their churches, where they celebrate a "Eucharist" according to the respective denomination, distributing "Communion" to everybody.

According to Fra Cristoforo, writing on maurizioblondet.it, these abuses are recommended by Pope Francis. Archbishop Nosiglia is informed about them but does not intervene. The future goal is to spread such gatherings to other Italian cities.

Distributing Holy Communion to people who do not share the Catholic Faith and have not previously confessed their sins, profanes the Holy Species, leads the participants to condemnation, and promotes superstition.

...she has appeared hundreds of times to encourage and to warn Christians.

Dang!

One would think that the Book Rome assembled so long ago would be enough.

You may sneer at Guadalupe, Fatima, Kibeho, Zeitun and many more, but you do so to your own loss.

Oh??

Just WHAT am I losing?

All apparitions are considered private revelation because public revelation ended with the Apostles’ deaths (when the New Testament was completed). According to the Catechism,  private revelation doesn’t improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but it helps us live more fully by it in a certain period of history. (CCC 67)   The Church will confirm an apparition as worthy of belief as a private revelation but Catholics aren’t required to believe it.

Marian experts have estimated that as many as 21,000 Marian apparitions have been reported since the year 1000.  The Holy See has formally approved the apparitions at 12 sites out of 295 it has studied, according to Father Salvatore Perrella, O.S.M., an expert in dogma and Mariology from the Marianum Pontifical Institute in Rome.

Some of your priests are already getting excommunicated for refusing heresy.

Care to name any of them or do you always make things up?

"Since her assumption into heaven, sworn to by the Bishop of Jerusalem,

Never happened. Never taught or believed before 500s AD.

Please listen to your Pope.

Pope Benedict XVI (Ratzinger) writes...

"Before Mary's bodily Assumption into heaven was defined, all theological faculties in the world were consulted for their opinion. Our teachers' answer was emphatically negative...

Altaner, the patrologist from Wurzburg…had proven in a scientifically persuasive manner that the doctrine of Mary’s bodily Assumption into heaven was unknown before the 5 century; this doctrine, therefore, he argued, could not belong to the “apostolic tradition.

And this was his conclusion, which my teachers at Munich shared. - J. Ratzinger, Milestones (Ignatius, n.d.), 58-59. .

I doubt you can show me that anybody made your kind of arguments to "refute" or "deny" Eucharistic realism, for the first 1500 years of Christianity.

Good try at reversing your responsibility to support your truth claims!

But the burden is on YOU to demonstrate and unbroken chain of 1500 years of this teaching.

I've asked you multiple times and you cannot do it. Have you come across new evidence recently?

OK, fair enough. Here's Church Fathers affirming Eucharistic Realism from:

You provide me with your sources refuting or denying Eucharistic Realism from the 1st through 5th centuries, and we'll take it from there.

Dude.

YOU WERE THE ONE WHO POSTED THE THREAD COMPLAINING ABOUT IT.

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/3573710/posts COUGH.

And that doesn’t change the question. What happens when your church hierarchy starts to demand that YOU approve of heresy? Because you KNOW that whenever the left gets its claws in somewhere, they start demanding conformity.

Answer the question. What’s more important, Word of God or Word of Pope?

Word of God. Popes are mere humans who can sin and make mistakes like any other human.

Thanks for posting the link!

I’m not Catholic m’self and I don’t believe in the Catholic version of the Real Presence, (I think it goes too far beyond what Scripture says, but I’m closer to you than most other Christian denominations; I still believe that Jesus is truly present, physically, but not all the way into transubstantiation) but this will be helpful in future discussions.

Thank you for the answer.

Then what happens when your church hierarchy is demanding acceptance of sin?

I know I’m being exceptionally obnoxious here, but this isn’t something that can be ignored.

If, as you (apparently) implied, the ONLY people who can approve the salvation-granting Sacraments are the Roman priests, who are starting the train into also demanding that you approve of sin in order to GET those Sacraments, where does that leave you? Because this sounds like a literal case of damned if you do or damned if you don’t.

But if you DON’T have to submit to the Pope and the Vatican hierarchy in order to be part of the one true church, then what’s so bad about Protestants and evangelicals?

Simply refuse to obey an unjust order to sin. It’s that simple.

As far as the Sacraments, I believe Lutherans confect valid baptisms and weddings, but not the Holy Eucharist.

Thanks for your gracious response -— and you’re welcome.
To me, it is simple:

Jesus: This is My Body
Me: Amen

“That’s a shame to believe in since Lutheran “priests” cannot effect a valid consecration.”

Missed the part in the Bible where God gave certain humans magical powers to do such things.
