The U.S. Constitution says no one can be subjected to a religious test for service in government. Eh. The Constitution says lots of things Democrats dont really care for. Weve already seen Bernie Sanders, early this year, berating a budget office nominee for being a Bible-believing Christian. I think this train has left the station as far as Democrats are concerned, so why shouldnt Dianne Feinstein chide Amy Barrett, a Catholic and a Notre Dame law professor, for being a little too overt about her Catholicism for the senators liking?
As far as Feinstein is concerned, she should. So during Barretts confirmation hearing yesterday, she did:
The implied subtext of all this, of course, is that a public servant who is too devoted to the dogma of her church might side with church dogma over U.S. law. This is the same exact attack leveled against JFK when he sought, successfully, to be the first Catholic president. His opponents worried (or claimed to be worried) that he would put fealty to the pope over loyalty to the United States.
The problem with this line of attack, whether its against a presidential candidate or a judicial nominee, is that the Constitution is designed to protect against abuses in both directions. The system doesnt allow you to impose your religious beliefs on a nation of secular laws. As much as the left wrings its hands over the idea that conservative Christians will try this, it simply cant be done. Our system of checks and balances leaves no room for it.

...ripped for being a Christian? Would it be the same if she wore a hajib?
A non-religious, secular Jew lecturing a Christian about religion?
Really Dianne? Are you sure you want to open up that can of worms?
It just goes to show you how chock sure liberal-tards are that they’re always 100% right.
Whenever I hear Feinstein’s name I have to remind people that she is a billionaire off government contracts:
Senator Diane Feinstein’s husband is Richard Blum. He’s made billions off government contracts. In 2011 the post office decided to sell a few historic buildings. The buyers were found they just needed someone to do the paperwork. He got the contract and charged commisions in excess of 900 million. Richard Blum and his personal company(which includes DiFi) are the majority stockholders in Comcast.
In 2015, the Postal Service has decided to sell 56 more buildings and Blum was selected to do the deal, again. He should make another Billion or more.
Dianne Feistein and her husband are also majority owners of Comcast. They are multi-billionaires, all off govt contracts. She is bought and paid for by the deep state.
This is disappointing. Many years ago, I appreciated this person for her intellect; but over the years she seems to have become a cowardly shill.
Does anybody know the Muslim position re: abortion? It’s something that I’ve never seen discussed.
“Right from the time of conception abortion is haram. All scholars agree on this point. Deliberate termination of a human fetus in a surgical, chemical or by any other artificial method is intrinsically an unlawful act in Islam and its doer will be held liable both in here and in the hereafter.”

Feinstein was totally improper in this ( and to think her mother was catholic and Dianne graduated Sacred Heart high school!!). Diane is obviously too old now (she’s 84 or 85 already) and needs to retire as gracefully as possible.
Whom do you mean?
But being a lesbo wise Latina is OK.
A long time ago, I saw Feinstein speaking on some issues; can’t recall now what the issues were, but her intellect and common sense impressed me at that time.
In recent years, I’ve had to call back that ‘impression’.
She and her husband are obviously members of the criminal class. May they rot.
On a more serious note, I heard Phil Donaghue of the Catholic League (on EWTN Catholic Radio) talk about this.
He said this is an UNCONSTITUTIONAL question for a senator to ask of a nominee.
Thank you.
I wonder if she would berate a Muslim for being ‘too serious’ about her religion...
“Feinstein berates Jesus about being too serious about Christianity”
May as well be that headline.

If she's both of these, is she really Jewish?
Supposedly it's a religion, not a set of genes.
Feinswine is too serious about her atheism.
Indeed. Pelousy has done many times the damage, evil deeds ——— yes! Alas. I’d just hoped all those years of catholic education might have at least sensitized Diane against a display of such ignorant hostility
