Actually, I was very active in my Catholic churches until the local bishop told me that there was n room in the Church for people like me (Traditional, Conservative Catholic). I asked the current bishop about this and his underling said that it still holds.
I tried for 7 years to accommodate my principles with the Conciliar Church, until I found it impossible to continue. I don’t know about your parish, but I find the intolerance of the hierarchy as off-putting as any other.
Well, that explains your angst against the Church. Don’t forget that it is worldwide ... not just centered on the one you attended.
Dang!
You may as well be a PROT; then!!
"One indeed is the universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved, in which the priest himself is the sacrifice, Jesus Christ, whose body and blood are truly contained in the sacrament of the altar under the species of bread and wine; the bread (changed) into His body by the divine power of transubstantiation, and the wine into the blood, so that to accomplish the mystery of unity we ourselves receive from His (nature) what He Himself received from ours."
--Pope Innocent III and Lateran Council IV (A.D. 1215)
