The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) has publicly invoked the intercession of the Virgin Mary to free the nation from the claws of communism, in a clear reference to the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.
Blessed Virgin, Mother of Coromoto, heavenly Patron of Venezuela, free our country from the claws of communism and socialism, the CEV posted on Twitter this Sunday, complete with an image of Santa Maria and a Venezuelan flag.

They MUST be doing it wrong; for...
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
Then get with the program and quit complaining when it doesn’t happen.
The above statement is false. I have never claimed such a preposterous thing.
Luther was once a Holy Catholic priest, and then Satan got ahold on him.
“Luther was once a Holy Catholic priest, and then Satan got ahold on him.
Given that he became a saved former Roman priest, I doubt Satan had anything to do with Luther’s salvation.
His previous enslavement to pagan religion, sure.
I see you jumped over replying to the FOR HER statement you so boldly typed.
If you expect that I read every one of the posts from prots to me, you are wrong.
What? When what doesn’t happen?
What are you talking about?
She never requested anything from Him.
She simply told Him a fact.
When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine. And Jesus said to her, Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.
His mother said to the servants, Do whatever he tells you.
IOW, Jesus asks Mary, by addressing her as *Woman* and not even *Mom*, *Why is that my problem?*
You don’t think Jesus already knew that fact?
Are you really that clueless?
Yes, we are not under obligation to obey the Law any more, NOW.
But Jesus needed to because otherwise He would not have been the sinless Lamb of God.
He Himself admitted that He came to FULFILL the Law.
He did that and in those of us who are in Christ, the Law has been fulfilled on our behalf and has been credited to our account. So God sees us as if we had fulfilled the Law, ever last bit of it.
It’s absolutely true that Mary made no specific request. Yet she obviously had expectations or she would not have told the servants to follow Jesus’ instructions. We must conclude that, in stating this fact to Jesus, Mary believed He would respond. Her own next statement establishes this fact.
By "Law", are you including the Ten Commandments?
It’s true that Jesus perfectly fulfilled the Law, including the ten commandments. On this point the Scripture is clear. As I mentioned, He also reiterated all but one of the ten commandments, so those nine still apply.
Could you post links to specific examples of animosity expressed towards Mary?
You claimed it’s happening.
Please back it up.
It’s also easy to miss that Scripture never said she ate an apple.
It just says *fruit*.
Maybe maybe not.
But that doesn’t change or address that Mary did not *ASK* Him anything. She TOLD Him a fact.
Hey! Doc Watson sang that it was an apple!
(Of course, he also sang that Cain killed Abel with a spade - during a poker game. Hmmm)
When I was a very young child, my Mom would sometimes tell me, “It’s past your bedtime, Ebb”.
She was stating a fact. She wasn’t directly asking me a question or giving me an order.
But I understand what she meant, and I went to bed.
Secondly, if Mary was not expecting a postive reaction from Her Son, why did She then turn to stewards tell them to do whatever Christ told them to do?
Doc Watson:
‘I done had a vision;
I seen them pearly gates a’closin’
An’ I seen you sinners all outside.
You better make your decision,
An’ pray that you’ll be chosen, chosen,
‘It’ll be too late when you’ve laid down and died.’
