The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) has publicly invoked the intercession of the Virgin Mary to free the nation from the claws of communism, in a clear reference to the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.
Blessed Virgin, Mother of Coromoto, heavenly Patron of Venezuela, free our country from the claws of communism and socialism, the CEV posted on Twitter this Sunday, complete with an image of Santa Maria and a Venezuelan flag.

If this prayer doesn't produce desired results, perhaps the CEV might consider praying directly to God the Father in Heaven. Best to use the Name of His only begotten Son -- the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
But first, they ought to get to know Jesus of Nazareth better than they do at present; He's the one true and only Messiah of God -- the only Name that works to communicate a prayer to God. You see, He is alive.
Mary is still asleep in Christ as yet and can hear nothing or pass along any messages at this time. She doesn't even know yet that she has been assigned the role of "heavenly Patron of Venezuela."

Sure it is. Because He told Mary His time had not come, yet He performed the miracle for Her, anyway.Once again, a Catholic shows how little he knows about what is actually in the Book that his chosen religious organization compiled.

It was a sign that showed His glory as Messiah and a sign to His disciples, who 'then'(?) believed in Him.
And yet...
Matthew 12:38-45
38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the Law said to Him, Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you.
39 He answered, A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomons wisdom, and now one greater than Solomon is here.

I really don't know how to resolve the two-genealogy question, but in any case I do appreciate the mention of Rahab! So cool. A sinless hooker: who knew!!

I really don't know how to resolve the two-genealogy question, No need to; since no one asked it.

The 'reason' was NOT recorded.
Scripture explains the RESULT (or one result; anyway).

Here we see complete strangers obey the Blessed Mother. What a stretch!!
Who says they were complete strangers ?
I usually know folks at weddings.
It's not like I emulate Luke Wilson in The Wedding Crasher

Neither the chief steward nor the bridegroom were aware of Marys order to the waiters and the subsequent miracle.
John 2:1-11 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
1 And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine.
4 And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece.
7 Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now, and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it.
9 And when the chief steward had tasted the water made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water; the chief steward calleth the bridegroom,
10 And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee; and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

If you have a problem asking saints to pray for you, that's your problem. If you have NO problem asking dead people to pray for you, that's just might be a problem.

If you were sick or dying, would you forbid your loved ones of offering prayers to God for your recovery? Well; if Gramma prayed for me; yes.
You see; her body temperature has been around 50-40 degrees for the last 65 years or so.
