The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) has publicly invoked the intercession of the Virgin Mary to free the nation from the claws of communism, in a clear reference to the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.
Blessed Virgin, Mother of Coromoto, heavenly Patron of Venezuela, free our country from the claws of communism and socialism, the CEV posted on Twitter this Sunday, complete with an image of Santa Maria and a Venezuelan flag.

Nope. A quick glace of the board shows it to be true. And I still see you’re paranoid.
Also from the Gospel according to Luke:
Luke 11:27-28 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
27 And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him: Blessed is the womb that bore thee, and the paps that gave thee suck.
28 But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God, and keep it.
Wonder the identity of that “certain woman” praising the still-virgin mother of Jesus the firstborn and of all His younger brothers and sisters. Surely THAT CERTAIN WOMAN was the first recorded Roman Catholic. (Couldn’t have actually been THE Mary, the mother of Jesus, making this particular exclamation of Marian praise, could it?)
Not based on Roman Catholic writers through the years as has been demonstrated to you numerous times.
2) Jesus came to us through Mary.
Yes, but that does not mean Mary is to be elevated to the lofty ranks we find in Roman Catholicism.
I have become convinced that the deeper you get into the importance of the Incarnation as such, the deeper you get into Mary.
And with posts such as this you continue to convince me that Roman Catholics do indeed worship Mary.
In none of the Gospels nor the other writings of the NT are we instructed to "get deeper into Mary" to learn about Christ.
Based on the NT Mary was no longer a virgin at this point.
Surely THAT CERTAIN WOMAN was the first recorded Roman Catholic.
Nope. The Roman Catholic church didn't come into existence until the late 200s or early 300s. Some say it officially became the RCC only at Trent.
(Couldnt have actually been THE Mary, the mother of Jesus, making this particular exclamation of Marian praise, could it?)
No.
Please, go buy that thesaursus. Between "flailing" and "paranoid", you sound like a parrot in a bird store.
I try to keep it simple for you.

From the poster who only has one thing to say.
Just a matter of time before your posts are pulled....again.
I'm done with you on this thread.
Spare us the romantic nonsense.
She was His mom and that's why her heart was pierced, as ANY mother would be.
It does not denote some special empathy or unity with Him beyond that.
Or that they do depend on her for salvation.
You don’t even have to try.
Promise?

This is the passage that puts it all in perspective. A woman in the crowd tries to shift the focus from Jesus and His teaching to Mary. Jesus shuts that maneuver down in no time flat.
There is a message in this incident for any and all who choose to heed it. Take the focus off Mary and put it squarely on Jesus and His teaching. Hear His words and observe them. That is what we’re told in no uncertain terms to do.
Thank you for citing the Luke passage, btw. It speaks to the issue under discussion like no other.
“I have become convinced that the deeper you get into the importance of the Incarnation as such, the deeper you get into Mary”
Only a Roman could make the focus of the long-promised Messiah about something other than God giving His Son as a sacrifice to bring eternal life to those who believe.
It is a sad, worldly, and unbiblical sentiment.
Jesus honored His Mother at the wedding at Cana and fulfilled her request with His first miracle.
Also, some His last words from the crucifix were:
[26] When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. [27] After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own. John 19
“Jesus honored His Mother at the wedding at Cana and fulfilled her request with His first miracle.”
It was her request. It was a wedding at Cana.
Your interpretation of His motive is not in the text.
Nevertheless, the message of Luke 11 is unambiguous. Jesus’ ministry is underway and He is teaching the crowd. A woman tries to divert attention away from the Lord and His message by shifting the focus to Mary. Jesus will have none of it; with lightning speed, He puts the focus right back on Himself, His words, and the blessedness of obedience to Him.
I researched the word, menoun, which is above translated, ‘Yea rather.’ When it occurs at the beginning of a sentence, it signals a correction. I.e.: the speaker is correcting what had immediately gone before. That’s why Strong’s translates it as, ‘Nay rather,’ and the NAS translates it, ‘On the contrary,’ — to let the reader know that Jesus is correcting the woman.
Had Jesus wished to encourage the veneration of Mary, here was His golden opportunity to do so. Instead, He stops the nascent veneration in its tracks. It’s impossible to argue otherwise; the text is short and to the point.
You really think this is praising MARY???
