Venezuelan Bishops Pray to Virgin Mary to Free the Country from the ‘Claws of Communism’

The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) has publicly invoked the intercession of the Virgin Mary to free the nation “from the claws of communism,” in a clear reference to the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.

“Blessed Virgin, Mother of Coromoto, heavenly Patron of Venezuela, free our country from the claws of communism and socialism,” the CEV posted on Twitter this Sunday, complete with an image of Santa Maria and a Venezuelan flag.

Good analogy, I missed it before.

It’s sad that some are trying so hard to follow a belief system’s rules/regulations/rituals/traditions that they miss the simple message that we can enter the Kingdom of God and be citizens of that Kingdom while we temporally sojourn on this planet as God’s children.

All we can do is point the way with God’s inspired Word.

It’s amazing how many times and places that the father of lies conjures up apparitions that say they are Mary.

People will reach right past Jesus to venerate some “spiritual” demigod.

Catholicism legitimatizes some of them (Fatima et al) and it makes their followers feel good as well as special.

Angels of Light are not always associated with the God of the Bible, but can be very titillating and seductive.

‘Jesus took flesh from her flesh’ ... Words couched to speciously support a hidden dogma. ... Did God use an ovum from Mary? You phrasing could easily defend such an assumption. But God has no such need and Nowhere is such an assertion asserted in His Word. Satan phrases things so stealthily, too support erroneous assumption aimed at leading souls astray.

These apparitions have just enough truth to make them sound "ok".

But was we know you have to look at their entire message. When we do we see it contradicts the NT with the emphasis on serving the apparition and not God.

It's very subtle but that is how the lie begins.

Did God really say....?

It's the oldest trick in the book.

A full tank in Catholicism is like a current Temple recommend card in Mormonism. Die without a valid one and a Mormon ends up with Baptists forever

On level two of lds Heaven

Do we have a deal? Those are my terms of truce. If not -- then you know what Andrew said -- WAR

Takes a real hero to declare war against someone who doesn't want one.

I know you're going through a lot right now (prayers for your brother and your family), but knock it off with the pompous pseudo-martial bloviating. Mrs. Don-o is one of the most charitable people on here when it comes to these heated discussions. I won't be nearly so nice.

Take care of yourself and your family, do your Christian duty, and then come back here with a sense of humility.

And for my family members in Venezuela who have worse things to worry about right now:

Virgen de Coromoto, ruega por nosotros!

Perhaps this topic is a bit too far off the subject of this particular thread. Continuing on a thread of its own would probably be more appropriate.

As a Christian, you have permission to petition the King of Kings on His throne. Why circumvent Him by pleading to one less than Him?

Don't ever ask anyone to pray for you then.

Best wishes to your family in Venezuela! One of our parishioners had two nephews who were killed in Venezuela earlier this year.

Then those who don't want one shouldn't have started one.

Thread after thread of Romanist, and Marianist hoo-hah posted of FR.

that sounds to me like so much near empty formality, after opening salvo of personal insult, followed by attempt to give me orders I must follow, to please you

Aw, shaddup. Who asked ya'? Get real. You're no friend of mine.

You want to "humbly" speak towards theological issues? Well then, get crackin', and humbly lead BY EXAMPLE. None of this "excuse me while I humbly diss you" kind of stuff.

Order your own coreligionists be humble (when they are not) and order your own self be humble.

When I see enough of that from yourself (it will take a while of consistent application) you may then have the credibility to speak towards issue of humility. In my eyes, you have not much of that, right about now.

How humble is it of yourself to demand that I be humble?

Speaking of humility;

I'll not humble myself before Marianist falsehood, and certain & particular aspects of Romanism(s) in general. Of that you can be sure.

I think you may have missed the context of where the word I was using --WAR had been used --that I'd been mirroring to send message to one person here, most in particular. Yet, that is not fully your own fault, for there had just been behind the scenes back-and-forth you were not privy to.

But if you want some -- and you seem to want some -- then come and get it. I'm your huckleberry.

Say when.

Humility is required of all of us. If you have a problem with it, you have a problem with Our Lord. Not me.

Answer me this. Are your theological positions infallible?
