"Catholics Will Have to Decide Whether They Guard the Faith Over Papolatry"

“Francis is more interested in leftwing politics than in Catholic theology”, George Neumayr, contributing editor of The American Spectator, states talking to Tom Woods on July 14th on tomwoods.com. Woods describes Francis as a result of John Paul II who - as he puts it - appointed "absolutely terrible people" as bishops: "Catholics have suffered under Bergoglios for decades now”.

Neumayr agrees that a lot of the liberal bishops were appointed by John Paul II and Benedict XVI. He sees Francis as the “culmination of a century” of liberalism and modernism in the Church.

For him it is "highly unlikely" that Francis, who in his theology is “more a Protestant than a Catholic” will convert to Catholicism. Instead, the realistic scenario is that Francis will produce division and chaos, "Catholics will have to decide whether they guard the faith over papolatry.”

And: “The Cardinals have to declare that Francis is a bad pope who must be resisted.”

Well... bacon comes from pigs; so, I don’t know.

I have 3 pet goats (had 4 but one died); but it doesn’t look to good for THEM being in Heaven; either.

What do you make of other Catholic’s lavish displays of Mary in and around their homes?

I’ve never seen any “lavish displays of Mary” in or around any Catholic homes. So I “make” nothing of it.

That may be hard for the Roman Catholic to determine. Mary is everywhere in Roman Catholicism so it's probably the norm.

I'd be willing to bet there are more writings regarding Mary in Roman Catholicism than probably any other topic.

These things seem a bit pricey for me; thus the term lavish.

Perhaps you live in a poorer neighborhood and don’t get out much.

As my son pointed out, the lion will lay down with the lamb, and there will be no more death. So we’ll probably all be Vegans up in heaven.

“But - maybe Brussel Sprouts TASTE like bacon in heaven!?”

Statues aren’t cheap. I bought a very nice St Francis statue for my wife several years ago. It was $90.00 if memory serves. It’s VERY heavy.

“Perhaps you live in a poorer neighborhood and don’t get out much.”

Perhaps I do. Perhaps I don’t. What difference does it make?

The book the Catholic Church assembled? You mean the Bible?

Can I take your vagueness about Mary to mean that you do NOT believe her 15 promises?

The 15 promises

(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche)

1 Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive powerful graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying Himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise Him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.
9. I  shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I  have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death
14. All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

"The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem,

no matter how difficult it is, wheter temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families...that cannot be solved by the Rosary.

There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary."

Why do Christians extol Mary so highly, calling her nobler than the Cherubim, incomparably greater than the Seraphim, raised above the heavens, purer than the very rays of the sun? For she was a woman, of the race of David, born to Anne her mother and Joachim her father, who was son of Panther. Panther and Melchi were brothers, sons of Levi, of the stock of Nathan, whose father was David of the tribe of Judah.

“Can I take your vagueness about Mary to mean that you do NOT believe her 15 promises?”

You can take it however you want. I’ve stated quite clearly what I believe. I’ll repeat it for you in case you missed it in an earlier post.

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

That’s my answer to every question about what I believe.

1. Turning away is not the same as losing eternal life
2. “Does not believe” is contrasted with those who do believe and are saved.
3. Israel

“I was taught that you start out with a clean slate after baptism - so if you were to die you WOULD go right to heaven. Once you receive First Holy Communion, then Confirmation, it’s each person’s duty to keep the grace balanced in your “soul account”. Do good deeds, go to Mass, take Communion, etc., all add grace to the account.”

The Great Roman Hamster Wheel of Self-Righteousness, that leads to hell.

Inflicted on those who are sincere and wish they could have the assurance of eternal life, but do not know to turn to Him and accept His Gift of grace.

Hey Rome, you had one job

Well, gee, of all the people working to sort out the Church’s problems, he was one of the few who got himself excommunicated and went out and started a new, anti-Cathooic movement.

Of course, the Church’s opprobrium is balanced by the Protests’ praise, no?
