I love Archbishop Chaput. His recent book was great, much better than others that recently came out in the same vein because he’s not a “golden ager”: someone who believes life was once perfect and could be again if only everyone would accept the roles the writer thinks they should.

With all due respect, that instruction is not at all realistic. Why even bother to get married?
This does not widen the tent.
How about straight couples? What’s their advice for them?
There is a famous convert who actually does that, lives with his wife as brother and sister, because he was married before.
Sometimes people become Catholic because it is a very seductive religion, but they are not really clear on what it means for their life. Until they find they can’t get married because they were once married and divorced.

Considering that the Bible teaches that mere lust equates to sex in the context of adultery, maybe we should all just keep our eyes closed 24/7.
