Those interested in the subject should only read the book if they are interested in lies. Koestler was a revisionist Zionist turned, communist, turned leftist conspiracy nut. He wrote fiction books about aliens in the end and a fictional book about Khazars. Actually, he did worse. He plagiarized Professor Douglas Dunlop, whose The History of the Jewish Khazars made the case that part of the Khazar nobility converted. As Professor Peter Golden noted, the Ashina Clan Khagans (Khan or Khans or Emperors) remained followers of Tengrism at least until 861 , 121 years after the famous conversion of Khagan Bek (prime minister/chief general) Bulan to Judaism. There is no reason to the majority of Khazars (let alone their multi-ethnic empire) were Jews. 2 of their 4 major cities (Samandar and the former capital of Balanjar) were largely Muslim. Given that Dagestan is Muslim, this makes sense. The capital, Khazaran-Atil near the mouth of the Volga was divided, with the non-royal half being largely Muslim and Christian. As for the Jews of Khazaria, these included the Radanite traders, who had introduced Judaism to the area before the Khazar Empire existed, Khazar converts, and refugees from Ishmael and Edom (the Caliphate and Byzantium). There is a word for the descendants of Jews intermarried with converts and that is Jews. The only groups of Jews to claim to be descendants of the Khazars are the Karaylar, who are Turkic Karaite Tatars from Crimea, which was part of Khazaria. The all but extinct Krimchaks (Rabbinic Tatar Jews) likely have similar heritage. But genetic studies on Ashkenazi Jews have never shown more than a small minority have genetic markers similar to Turkic groups or even the closes extant groups to Khazars, the Jewish Tatars of Crimea or the Christian and Muslim Chuvash Volga Tatars, who are descendants of the Bulghars.

Way back off the ark a prophesy was given concerning the sons. Japheth would dwell in the tents of Shem. Ham would be Shem's servant. How dose one dwell in someone’s tent and not be their servant? The only answer that fits is that you marry them. Japheth is the wife. Shem is the husband. This types you can follow throughout the Bible.

I believe that even Sarah's mother may well have been out of Japheth. Abraham had both mother and father who were Shemites. Sarah had the same father as he, but a different mother. I think that right at the beginning the strain of Japheth was strong in Abraham's Shemite strain, as the wife.

Remember that Sarah and Rebekkah were considered so beautiful that kings wanted them. There were many beautiful women you can be sure. What made them different? It is likely their lightness. Even today many, many countries that are darker skinned see their lightest skin women as being the most beautiful.

Remember that the two girls who were Jacobs wives were taken right back out of that strain. Rachel's brother's name was Laban. Names meant something then. Laban means white. It may even be that their mothers were white, as whites were in that area. I think that Japheth is the bride and Shem is the groom. This is even reflected in much of God's Church.
