You mean that you actually used the work "latria" to describe what you were doing in engaging in latria in service to Mary, or other forms descriptive of worship?
Then it is true. You were an ignorant Catholic, a product of poor catechesis, who did not know how to play word games to absolve yourself of the guilt of idolatry. Fortunately, there are some Catholics here are schooled in that art, and hope that you would join their company of deception. Sadly i say, and may God grant them repentance unto life, and that we all flee from idolatry (which can be the dinner table or paycheck, no matter what word we use for it).
Yea, I guess I was a pretty ignorant catholic, as were all the kids I went to catholic school with. We were at the mercy of equally ignorant priests and nuns.
I was scared to death, that God was going to zap me, so I asked a priest how to deal with it. He said just don't commit any mortal sins, and I would be OK. This did little to calm my spirit, because I enjoyed committing mortal sins. That's why I stopped going to communion.
Things are different now. I am no longer into idolatry. Life is better, but eternity is going to be even better than that. 👍
