Pastor Andy Stanley says the Bible is too hard to defend
Evangelical pastor preaches that the Bible isnt the foundation for the Christian faith

Andy Stanley has a church network of over 30,000 people in the Atlanta area, and his church was rated the fastest-growing in America in 2014 and 2015.1 Recently, he has been criticized by many evangelicals for saying that we need to take the focus off the Bible and put it on the Resurrection, because he claims that gives us a firmer foundation for our faith. As Stanley put it: We believe Jesus rose from the dead not because the Bible says so. It is way better than that! Christianity does not hang by the thread of The Bible told me so.2 And: The original version [of Christianity], the pre-Bible version, was defensible, it was endurable, it was persecutable, it was fearless, it was compassionate, and it was compelling, but he claims it is next to impossible to defend the entire Bible.2

Show us where the Bible describes a “new covenant.”
Post the text.
Yes there is.
בְּרִית חֲדָשָׁה means "new convenant" and is found in the Book of Jeremiah
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.

The “Body of Believers” is Yisrael.
It is Kehilla in Hebrew, and was translated to Ekklesia in Greek which both mean assembly, not church or synagogue.
It has existed for 6000 years.
There is no “New Testament body.”
.
Nice try!
The new covenant in Jeremiah is plainly stated to be the old covenant renewed in sinless blood with Torah written on our hearts.
There is no new covenant.
.
And thus you admit it is there before you gainsay it.
.
>> [31] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: <<
.
There is that “new covenant” in your own post that you testified did not exist.
I didn’t “gainsay” anything.
Restoring the old covenant in the promised sinless blood is not in any way the false “New Covenant” constantly harped upon by the churchians.
It is with the very same people as was the old covenant.
Those that refuse to sojourn with Israel will remain lost.
.
Are you living in the land of Israel now, or saving up your money to go ?
.
And just how does it differ from the ‘old’ covenant?
Yisrael is not living in the Land of Israel.
Yisrael is spread across the world.
Are your parents Jewish ?
Thus you concede it is new. Read about it in Jeremiah. It is straightforward.
.
I suspect that very few “Jews” are a part of Yisrael.
There will be a few though.
.
.
No, I do not concede that it is new, it is the old covenant renewed.
.
No sale; Hebrew has a different form (house) for renewed.
Are you involved with Holocaust Denial ?
Are you sober?
Your last few questions are bizzare at best, and certainly not relevent to the subject at hand.
Are you trying to dissimulate too?
The renewed covenant is declared to be “with the house of Judah, and with the house of Israel.
How to you think that relates to the imaginary “church” that the nicolaitan churchians rant about?
Where is any covenant with any “church?”
Obviously nowhere!
.
Completely sober; your posts about Israel and Jewish identity are strange; I wonder what type of sect you associate with; there are some very weird ones out there. You are a Gentile correct ?
.
I have posted nothing about “Jewish identity,” whatever that may be.
I have restricted my posts to exactly what the word of God plainly says.
I do not associate with any sect, and only pay attention to those that preach the pure word un-embellished.
The word of God destroys churchianity completely.
There absolutely is no “church” with which Yehova holds any covenant.
Dissimulation is not productive, neither is anger nor acrimony. Off the wall accusations are from the looney bin.
